“Must see”
Reviewed June 20, 2014

Old faithful the largest active geyser n the world IN fact, Old faithful is also one of the best geysers in the Yellowstone National Park. We did stay back and see the second eruption too. It was in the afternoon and lots of people. But the seating arrangements are made such that everyone gets to see this beautiful geyser eruption. The geyser erupting every 15 to 30 mts. Sometimes Old Faithful erupts about every 65-95 minutes and it rises upto a column of water 100-130 feet into the air.The length of the geyser’s eruption determines how long it will be before the next eruption occurs. Therefore, longer geyser eruptions mean waiting longer to see the next eruption.
Most of the eruption lasts for more than 4 mts and sometimes two-and-a-half minutes. It is really a wonderful experience to see the geyser when fully erupting.
Visit the visitor center for information and the time of geyser eruption.
Visit the museum. It is just fantastic.
The theater where they show film about Old Fithful was out of order and so we missed watching the film.
Gift store is one of the attractions where you get beautiful pictures of the geysers and the park, besides gif articles and shirts.

“Worthy of the Must-See Hype”
Reviewed June 19, 2014 via mobile

We were expecting to be underwhelmed by all the hype surrounding Old Faithful but we were not disappointed at all. We stayed nearby but explored other parts of the park first.

When we got back to Old Faithful area, we happened to be 15 minutes from eruption. We walked out and waited with the crowd and got a great show right on time!

We had seen loads of geysers in Iceland and many many throughout Yellowstone but Old Faithful was the highest and longest eruption we'd seen!

Didn't get to explore the rest of OF area but spent a ton of time in Norris so we got our fill of geothermal activity there.

Don't skip it if you're in the park!

Nothing short of absolutely captivating, watching Old Faithful. Several options for viewing available, the best on Old Faithful Inn porch.

“A main attraction!”
Reviewed June 18, 2014

This is what most associate Yellowstone National Park with. Take the time to walk the boardwalks around it that lead to many other geysers, pools, the Firehole River and for those more ambitious, the trail to the overlook, The Upper Geyser Basin is full of great photo ops!

“Hot Water!”
Reviewed June 15, 2014

Probably the only place in the world where people sit around for 90 minutes to see water shoot our of the ground. But nature nerd that I am, I was on the edge of my seat and was not disappointed. No man-made attraction holds a candle to this.
