“Still a sheet of ice in May”
Reviewed June 28, 2010

We were there the last week in May and the whole lake, which is enormous, was still a sheet of ice. We had always had the ambition to visit Yellowstone and we were not disappointed it is a really beautifuil place with so much wildlife to see.

We pulled into a parking area at the side of the lake to take in the view and there were loads of people aiming their cameras on the other side of the road and there was a bear with her cubs in the meadow and evidently about 10 minutes before we arrived the bears had been in the parking area at the side of the lake getting a drink.

We saw far more animals than we ever expected and got photos of bears, bison, wolves, coyotes, bald eagles, osprey, etc. the list is endless.

“Frozen but beautiful”
Reviewed June 7, 2010

When we visited Yellowstone in May 2010 much of the Lake was still frozen but this did not take away from the beauty. There are plenty of places to hike around the lake so bring walking shoes and camera.

“Great day on the lake renting Kayak's”
Reviewed December 24, 2009

We had a great day on Yellowstone Lake during our summer vacation. We had a family reunion in Jackson this summer and then went up to Yellowstone for a few extra days. One of the guides that we met in Jackson gave us the best advice of our whole trip, which was "Get out of the car!" So we did. We rented kayaks and got some deli lunches and paddled around Yellowstone lake. We lucked out on the weather, it was beautiful with no wind at all. We paddled into a cove and had it to ourselves except for a couple fisherman. We swam and laid on a "beach" and our best day in Yellowstone (out of the car.). We have a family with our kids ranging from 8 to 17 years old. The 8 year old was with my husband in the kayak and that was great. If it was a more windy day, then I do not think we would have been able to go as far. Doing a trip like this opened our eyes to so many other things we can do on vacation. It was great.

“the largest bluest lake i have ever seen”
Reviewed October 10, 2009

the drive along the lake shows just how large it is, the scenery is beautiful, the lake waters are so clear you can see through them. i would recomend to everyone to take in the views. The whole park is so large you need a week to cover everything, if not more time.

“Nature-ally Beautiful”
Reviewed October 8, 2009

Even before we stepped onto the Fishing Bridge, the tranquil waters caught our eyes. The moment we went up the bridge, we were mesmerised - deep blue waters mirroring the clear blue skies, fringed by winding lush green shoreline. Can one ask for a better backdrop for great pictures?

I'd recommend this place to anyone interested to visiting Yellowstone National Park
