Spent two nights here while visiting area and Valdez. Excellent, quiet, scenic hotel. Clean, comfy sleep, great views and good food. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. When we can't think of any complaints, then all must have been good.

Room Tip: We were on 1st floor facing parking lot. I am sure the mountain/valley view rooms are better but we only slept there. We went out to see the views.

Absolutely perfect! We did not book our two night stay as part of a cruise package and we were really fortunate that there were only about 20-30 people staying at the lodge while we were there. It is a beautiful drive from Anchorage and a perfect place to stay. The staff were friendly and helpful, the food was good and priced about the same as other places in AK. The lodge has amazing vistas of the surrounding mountains, which are visible from the main sitting area and main dining hall. We saw a beautiful red fox cross the facility grounds during breakfast! Absolutely perfect stay - I highly recommend the lodge

Room Tip: The room windows are small so I'm not sure that it is worth the value to have a room with a view of the mountains (though we did) - spend a lot of time in the main lodge area and on the outside patio - you can't beat the setting!

A fantastic stop on our trip from Whitehorse to Denali. Great views, nice clean rooms. enjoyed the lounge for dinner and continued on our way to Kenai. Was a great, nice quiet place and we would stay here again for sure.

I got a great rate so was excited to stay here. I'm Alaskan and love the area. Upon check-in I was told I couldn't check in until 3. There were no cars in the parking lot and the place was not busy. I very much got the idea I couldn't check in because of the "rules" not because there wasn't a room. The staff isn't very friendly. They hire a bunch of very young people who socialize with each other but who are not trained to speak with guests. Overall it was a big disappointment.

We recently returned from our "bucket list" trip to Alaska. Of all the wonderful places that we saw, this was our favorite. The setting is absolutely beautiful and so peaceful. There are several trails around the grounds, a spacious lobby, a restaurant and an espresso bar. We did not want to leave.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the back overlooking the mountains rather than the front.
