This place has a friendly staff and the room is clean and neat. It's convenient to the Thruway, Rochester, and a lovely outlet mall.

My husband and I are active travelers. We spend little time in our hotel except to sleep at night. That being said, Microtel was great and suited our needs perfectly. The rooms are small (that's why the call it a MICRO-tel!!), but if you aren't planning to spend a lot of time in the room that doesn't matter so much. Our room was clean, including the bed linens, and the bathroom was VERY clean. We were on the first floor facing the parking lot, so we had to keep our curtains drawn the entire weekend, but as we didn't spend much time in the room it didn't matter much to us. I agree with the previous reviewer about both the lights and the smell. The lights were very annoying, as they were directly over the bed and there was no way to turn the overhead lights off but leave a small reading lamp on (no reading lamps!). There was also a smell to the entire property. I don't think it was cigarette smoke (this is NY state, after all!), but it did have a distinct odor. Would definitely stay at a Microtel again and would even stay at this property again, especially if we were planning an active weekend.

Room Tip: Try to get a room on the second floor - some first floor rooms face the parking lot and it's easy for people to see in. First floor rooms are also a bit noisy if you have someone staying above you.
