Joe's place is a very small (5 table) restaurant that serves pizza, sandwiches and pasta. It looks well worn, but it was clean. The decor leaves much to be desired (tired picturesof Italy and maritime objects), and all tables are near the door, so on a cold night it can get chilly.
You clearly don't go to Joe's for the atmosphere, but go for the pizza. We had the special (5 toppings of your choice), and it was excellent - a fairly thin crust, not too much tomato sauce, and all the veggies were fresh. A medium pizza and two, drinks were less rhan $14.
We only had one visit and didn't try anything other than the pizza, so we can't testify to the other food, although the fries appeared to be frozen crinkle cuts. No wine, but they do serve beer.
Our server was very friendly, but the restaurant was quite busy (lots of takeout business), and she was the sole server, so service at times was slow. But if you're not in a hurry and want an excellent pizza, Joe's is the place to go.
