We have visited Meadowlark Gardens many times. Every aspect from the nature center to the gardens to the lake, etc are just fantastic.

The holiday light show they put on around Christmas time is really spectacular. Something to enjoy for adults and kids. They do a really nice job with it and it is very much worth the price of admission.

We have been going here for the past 2-3 years and it's always a hit with my daughter.
The experience as a whole is awesome, with the fire pit and smores at the end.

It's best to do this on a mild evening as it does get cold being late in the year. It also does get crowded so I would suggest a mid week night.

I highly recommend this, especially if you have young children.

This is close to home - if you live in northern Virginia, as we do. But if you do live elsewhere in the Washington metro area or are visiting from out-of-town, it's not a long drive to Vienna, Virginia to reach this former weekend farmstead to experience attractive gardens, rolling lawns and the rather unique Korean Bell garden. Admission is about $5 with half-price for seniors. The gardens are big enough that you can get a healthy walk out of going around it with several short woodland trails available for walking in addition to the broad lawns. Although it's in the middle of suburbia, the gardens are bordered by their extensive belt of tall trees which are such that you won't see the neighboring houses. All this adds up to a very peaceful experience enabling you to enjoy the beautiful flowers cared for by the volunteers as well as the small lakes with their wildlife (one lake has a snapping turtle!). In addition, attendance by visitors is usually quite small, enabling you to enjoy the gardens in peace and quiet.

A special experience is the Korean Bell garden with some characteristic Korean garden architecture as well as an extremely large bell which is sure to intrigue any youngsters you bring along.

My husband and I were married at Meadowlark and it holds a special place in our hearts. The gardens are always beautiful, no matter what time of year you tour, and even in summer it's a lovely place to be outside. The only downside is you can't picnic inside the park, but there are benches outside of the entrance for picnicking.
