Meadowlark’s Winter Walk of Lights from November 16th - January 6th to experience over 500,000 LED lights and displays that bring Meadowlark Botanical Gardens to life! Meadowlark's gardens are transformed into a winter wonderland, including a flowing stream of softly glowing lights. There is a two story animated fountain, and a Gingerbread Village. The web site stated that imed admission tickets are required with a handful of at the door tickets are available each day. I went on line and did an 8:30 start time for Friday, December 28th. The problem was that 5:30 printed on the tickets. I immediately called the park and they said as long as you have the correct date than they honor the ticket regardless of the time. Then what was the point of selecting a time? The cost for the weekend is $13 per adult. The lights were great but worth $13 each? I don't think so. But figure we are partly donating to the park for their continued work. They did sell the makings to do s'mores over the fire pit at the end of the walk as well as coffee, hot cider and hot chocolate were available for purchase for $2 each.

The Gardens are beautiful year-round. My wife and I recently went for the Christmas lights display and it was better than we expected. We haven't been inside of the Atrium, but the gardens offer a great meditative atmosphere. Don't expect an overly-structured space with hidden "nooks" like other "plantation"-sized gardens. Enjoy it for what it is... A beautiful and quiet space in hectic Northern Virginia.

Beautiful park. Hidden gem, really, esp during the mid-spring blooming season. But so restrictive with food, drink, and access, this green-space is difficult to enjoy for all buy the most avid gardener.

You won't see this on anyone's front lawn. Quite an interesting set of lights and effects. Great for a 5-yr old and the two parents.

We love this place other times of the year, but we recently went to the "Winter Walk of Lights" event there and loved it. The tickets weren't cheap, but the event was beautiful and really well done. Indoor activities including Santa while you wait if you are early, and the walk around the light show was absolutely breathtaking. They also had a station where you could stop and buy a kit to make s'mores over the fire. Really wonderful holiday kickoff for my whole family. I will go again next year.
