“Save your money and stay here”

For a Motel 6 this is a real deal. Much better than staying in one of the expensive places in the Rapid City area. The hotel is new. The rooms have everything one needs for 2 people. The staff was helpful and gave us a good recommendation on a restaurant for dinner. The bed was just OK.

Room Tip: Take a flashlight in with you as your partner will want you to use it when you use the bathroom duri...

Clean rooms and quiet. The staff are the most helpful of any that I've encountered in my travels. I had troubles with the tires on my motorcycle and with the cheap tracphone that couldn't get any signals. The staff went out of there way to get me the info that I needed to correct my situation. That gal Carrie went way over and above anything that I could ever have dreamed of. She left me with a feeling that I wasn't stranded just a little detoured. She is such an asset to the motel and to herself, she reallymade me feel like an old friend and not just another customer. If and when I get back to that area I will stay there again.

The only thing missing was a complimentary breakfast. Otherwise, it was clean, quiet and convenient for local dining. Pizza Hut and Dairy Queen are very close, and other dining opportunities are further North in the city proper. It was a restful stop over on our way to Wind Cave and Mt Rushmore.

Room Tip: If you are mobility challenged, get a first floor room. The hotel does have elevators, so even if y...

We are glad you enjoyed your stay. The Motel 6 chain does not offer breakfast. We are bound by their rules on that issue. As you stated, we do have several restaurants close by for our guests to enjoy. We hope your travels bring you back in the future.

I am so happy with this place it's ridiculous. I was prepared to underwhelmed with the most cost effective hotel/motel on our trip. Instead, I feel other places will pale in comparison. The staff, rooms, and even other guests are just great. The room that we had reserved ended up not being available at check-in but they made up for it by offering adjoining rooms (one being accessible like we reserved) so we had enough beds. I would stay here again in a heartbeat and recommend it to everyone. It is on the edge of town but after driving 900 miles a few more to go places is no biggie.

Thank you for your kind comments. We are glad you enjoyed your stay. Just as a reminder, all of our "accessible" rooms have only one queen bed in them. We were, however, more than happy to also give you the adjoining room so that you had the space you needed. We hope to see you again in your travels!

We were just looking for a place to sleep at night and explore all day.... Motel 6 was very very clean; they even had a small pool to relax and refresh in after a long hot day of sight seeing! It suited our needs perfectly!

after leaving rapid city -large town with lots of traffic and noise ,hot springs was wonderful! smaller town ,easy to get around and the big attractions were equal driving distance as they were from rapid city. the view was wonderful from our room. this was the only motel with a luggage cart on our trip. Marylin, the general manager was very helpful , she even directed us to a city park that my grandkids could wade in a hot stream and climb rocks without scaring grandma to death .newer motel so everything looked great. the beds were the best sleep that we got on the whole trip. my twin granddaughters loved the pool and tried to spend all of our down time in it. I also want to mention Carrie, she was wonderful ! her interactions with my grandkids was above and beyond friendly. Charlie and Tiffany were absolutely great as well. this was a beautiful motel with lots of amenities for a budget price, they are even pet friendly . this is a well run motel staffed by people who actually love guest interaction .they helped us find a lot of things that we would have missed out on without their help! I would stay here again and again.

Room Tip: we stayed on the ground floor facing north. this motel was the only one on our trip that had an elev...

Thank you for your positive comments! You are absolutely right when you say that our staff loves guest interaction. When we get to continually meet such wonderful people as you and your family, how could you not love the interaction! We also enjoy directing people to our favorite spots, the natural beauty of the Black Hills. We usually cannot go wrong directing people to see little parts of God's masterpiece! Thank you again for staying with us at Motel 6 Hot Springs. We look forward to your return trips as your other grandchildren get a little older!
