A once in a lifetime experience. The history of the ranch and legacy of one man's work is amazing. The horses are beautiful and majestic. Many of the horses are rescue horses a sign of man's cruelty, but now they are free and healthy. They are desperate for rain. Already feeding winter hay as needed at extremely inflated prices. If you have any interest in horses , their history and what they mean to the Americas this is the place you need to visit at least once. We are already planning a return visit.

My wife and I did the 3 hour tour and it was just us and our guide Mark. It was worth every penny. We were able to get out and mingle several times w/ the horses at a very relaxing pace, If we didnt need to get back Mark was in no rush and we wouldve been there longer than 3 hours. Mark was very very informative both about the horses and the land we were on. We would strongly consider the all day tour it was that much fun. If you do the 3 hour reservations a must.

Children younger than 7 will likely be bored ont he 2 hour tour. My older daughter (age 11) really enjoyed it. The area is beautiful and our tour guide was great. The best part was a few of the horses approached our group and allowed us to pet them. Otherwise, you are simply looking. It is pricey so you have to be ok with knowing much of what you are paying for is a donation for the sanctuary.

The wild mustangs are beautiful to watch and had to back for our second trip to South Dakota! Staff are very friendly and although we didn't take part in the bus tour I heard it was well worth it.

My daughter and I visited here and took the 9am 2 hour tour. We saw so many horses. Every time we stopped the horses were curiuous and walked up to our group. They were beautiful. Our tour guide was very knowledgable and kept us entertained. If you go in the summer, take water. It is hot and there is no air conditioning on the bus. Even with two bottles of water I was ready to drink more by the end of the tour.
