We went on a tour of the Mammoth site on July 9th 2013. My son, who loves anything dinosaur was in heaven. The tour was great. The facility is extremely well taken care of. I'm so glad we went.

We paid about 50 bucks for our family of four for a short tour and walk through. While neat to see, WAY overpriced.
Kids did Jr. Dig (which was about another 10.00 PER KID), they are 8 and 12. TOO OLD for jr. dig. While the guides were nice, it is digging in a big sandbox full of other kids. PASS.

While it is a cool place, they need to review how much they charge for what you get. Hot Springs is kind of way out there, but the drive is pretty. I should've checked out the town more.

This is the premier sightseeing spot in Hot Springs, S.D. It is a unique experience, getting up close and personal with an active archeological dig site. The history behind the site is fascinating, not least being that a developer was willing to give up his construction site in the service of furthering our collective knowledge of the world as it was before we arrived.
Educational and fun, for all ages!
