The hotel is set just outside the main town area. The hotel rooms are comfortable and quiet.
Good parking available at the hotel.
Staff very friendly and helpful.
The hotel is good value for the money.
A minor complaint , the pillows are to hard.
Bit disappointed with Hot Springs itself has little to offer other than a stop over point.

I selected this hotel for our first night in the Mount Rushmore area based on other reviews which seemed to indicate this was a reasonably decent place. Now I feel like it's my duty to warn others.

The staff was friendly, however both my family and another on our floor's cards were not activated properly. The security door on the outside of the hotel (which was right next to our room) was broken making me feel unsafe. Once we got into the room I had to call the front desk to clean our bathtub which had several pieces of hair in it. The bathroom floor didn't appear to be clean either. To their credit, they did send someone right away to clean it, but I felt like this should have been handled prior to our arrival. Also it was extremely noisy (we were next to the stairs). The "breakfast area" was extremely dirty, was never restocked during the time we sat there and was the most boring of breakfasts I have ever encountered. There was a crock pot that my husband thinks contained gravy at one point, but by 7:30 it and the biscuits were gone. I could go on, but I won't. We pre-paid for this room and it will be our last time staying at a Super 8 that was not at all Super.

This hotel was wonderful. We checked the rates at a few other hotels in town, and this one won, hands down. The breakfast and the breakfast room were both great. The ladies at the front desk could not have been more friendly or more helpful. Our daughters enjoyed the computers in the room off the lobby, as well as the wi-fi in the rooms. Having the Mammoth Site and a delicious steak house within walking distance was a huge plus. We were also on the road to the Wild Horse Sanctuary, which is a must see if you are in Hot Springs. We also enjoyed Evans Plunge for an afternoon of swimming.

We enjoyed our stay at this Super 8, so much so we stayed a few extra days. Clean throughout, wonderful king bed, no hassles with having our dogs (many motels require animals be crated and charge through the nose for them), a good breakfast bar and friendly service. Their rates were also better than the other motels we called. And, it's conveniently located to all this town has to offer.
Thanks to all at the Hot Springs Super 8. We'll be back.

This is a perfectly acceptable property in the Hot Springs area. Nothing special about it but no serious problems either. The room was clean and well maintained, although cheaply furnished and showing some wear around the edges. The rate included a basic continental breakfast (cereal, pastries, fruit, biscuits) that, although unexciting, filled our tummies and got us on the way. The location is on the other side of town from Wind Cave NP, so it's about a 25-minute drive to the visitor center. Mammoth Site is right next door, and there's also a restaurant on the other side of the property that had decent food. There's no reason not to stay here again, but next time I would probably look for a location a little closer to the park. Oh, and make sure to get a room on the back side of the building, otherwise you'll get the lights from all the cars arriving in the parking lot shining into your windows.
