We visit Cincinnati to see family in Ault Park, but love to getaway to museums & city stuff too. Our 2nd stay at this property. Big super comfy rooms, awesome service, love that it's soooo easy to drive to anywhere in the area from here and walk to downtown activities like Contemporary Art museum, Aronoff, Fountain Square. Everybody on staff from front desk to valet to room staff are sweethearts.

Are there any drawbacks? The historic exterior is cool (National Historic Register), but the interior was redone in a goofy eighties style they can't do too much about. However, they put up interesting local art in every hallway to help. The two restaurants are serviceable but boring, recommend you try to find somewhere local that interests you instead. Again, the rooms are big, fresh, comfy and quiet, which is the big point. Big double sink bathroom. And the service is just great. So is the location. Basically, we're fond of this place and will never be trapped at our inlaws again when we can have a snug weekend here instead. :-)

My husband and I had a one-night stay at this hotel. The reception desk staff was very welcoming and upgraded us to a larger room (without us asking). The hotel is centrally located and is within walking distance of performance venues and good restaurants. Would definitely stay there again!

We stayed at the Cincinnatian for 2 nights The room was lovely and clean. We reserved a standard King room were upgraded on arrival to suite with a balcony - very nice. With the door to the balcony open we could clearly hear the music from the bar but when the doors were closed and the shades drawn the room was quiet. Service was excellent. Great downtown location. Lots to see in walking distance.
The valet parking was convenient , friendly and quick - though expensive.
We dined at the The Palace (in hotel restaurant) once and had a wonderful meal with great service.
Breakfast menu in the room showed really high prices for breakfast - so we walked two blocks to a nice little place to eat breakfast for less than half the cost.

Booked the hotel online - apparently preferred hotels group runs the website, but does not actually run the hotels... so, when i went called to cancel, they couldnt help me. long story short, in trying to cancel online there was a huge snafu, and the hotel refused - in the most impolite, unprofessional, and condescending manner possible - to reimburse even part of the cost of the room.
if you ever decide to stay here, go with a thick skin and bring your fighting gloves - at the cincinnatian, apparently, the customer is never right.

Heard lots of good things about this hotel and was looking forward to the trip. I was there on business. The lobby is nice, decent area of downtown, but my room was very small (only queen bed) with no outside window, just a view of the atrium. Bed was comfy but furniture and rug was dirty and dated. Room had no tub but a large two person shower that was nice but it needed some grout cleaning and some updating.

Would not go back unkess they do a total renovation. Would try Westin next time.

Also did not get my wake up service.

wife had company meeting so were were booked here. Nice entry, good service upon arrival. Room was nice, spacious and mostly clean. Bar was okay. Good exerice room, especially the private video screens on each piece of aerobic equipment, nice!

$60 for 2 granola with yogurts, 2-oj's and 1/2 pot coffee for room service seemed excessive!!

Next time, we'll book at Hilton across the street as the bar is stunning art deco revival, 1/2 price drinks and app's in bar 4-7pm

My wife and I stayed at this hotel two times already. On both occasions we picked a room with a stand up shower(hate bath tubs).

DOWNS
The rooms are too small

Toilet flushes real slow so watch out
corners of shower had mildew

The rooms have no windows looking outside. when you open the curtains in the room, all you see is the inside of the hotel inclduing balcony rooms which is where we stayed two days ago(balcony room)

Hotel food and coffee is very expensive considering that this is NOT FOUR SEASONS OR RITZ CARLTON. Room Service Coffee is like $8.

WATCH OUT FOR THE VALET AND ROOM SERVICE!!!! THEY WILL OVER DO IT TO GET THEIR TIPS.
I had ordered room service coffee after hours(everything else outside was closed). The Room service guy would not let me close the door until i tipped him. He blocked the door with his foot and kept holding the tray until i tipped him $3 and he looked over his tip and said" well, i guess that's gonna be it right?"

(LOL) My wife and I had a good laugh all night.

UPS
When you request something from the lobby, its delivered with in 5 secs, towels, courtesy tooth brush, etc

The Piano is great even though they over play it when you try to get some sleep.

Over all the Cincinnatian is a great place

Restaurants

check shanghai mama one block away. They are open until 3am and serve the best asian food, chinese etc.

Also check out Louis' bar and grill. They are open until 2am, have pool tables and really great steaks.
