As a business traveler, its such a refreshing change to have a nice, one-off hotel like this one.

Wowing reception areas, and fantastic views from the higher floors....

I have stayed at this hotel quite a number of times now, and it never fails to impress...

I have stayed in the mini-suites and the junior suites at the hotel and have always been extremely comfortable. Big enough to be useful for a stay of a week or more (I tend to stay for 2 weeks at a time).

The HHonors Guest Manager/Rooms Controller/Business Travel Reservations lady (Ms. B - you know who you are!) is one of the best I have come across in many years of dealing with Hilton hotels.

My only negative is the restaurant - Orchids. It doesnt really suit long term stays or business travelers - this is a restaurant for "special" meals. I just wish they would put the steak that is on the advert for the restaurant back on the menu (the one that is displayed in the lower lift lobby at the front of the hotel).

All in all, a perfectly suited hotel for my needs (including an Hhonors lounge!) and a great staff too!

Room Tip: If staying for more than a few days, see if you can book a mini suite at least, as in the main, the...

Nice hotel smack in the middle of town. The hotel goes back to the 1930s and has some of the most amazing art deco you'll find in a hotel like this. Rooms are pretty typical Hilton. They do what they do and it all works. Downstairs bar area is very nice to sit and have a light meal and enjoy the surroundings. You get access to the gym in the arcade next door and that's really as good as you'll find in any major hotel.

Nie friendly staff without being overbearing. Always stay there for work and never disappointed

This is a very cool, historic hotel done in Art Deco. The staff was very courteous and friendly, including members of Housekeeping. Awesome hotel with great views of the city. If you're driving and not using Valet service, remember that the parking garage across the street has zero satellite coverage, so your GPS will be no help until you have already turned the wrong way. Map out your escape route ahead of time to avoid driving around the entire block in order to find the expressway. You'll be glad you did. Other than that, awesome place to park your carcass.

My wife and I completed a one-night stay to celebrate our anniversary, and the overall experience was fantastic. Our room was beautiful and well-appointed, and everything worked very well. The hotel staff, from the reception desk to room service to the lobby bar, were all courteous, knowledgeable and attentive. Putting all that into a facility as beautiful, historic and well-maintained as the Netherland makes a stay there a special experience. Treat yourself and book a stay at this grand hotel.

The wife and I stayed here on Fourth of July. We went to the Reds game and had a great time. Our room was a little small but was very suffice. The bed was very comfortable and the shower had great water pressure. The hotel itself was very grand and beautiful. After the game we wound up at the bar in the lobby. We had a few drinks and enjoyed listening to the music. My wife ordered a burger and there was a mixup so the lady apologize profusely and told us there was no charge for our tab. Our whole experience of this hotel was a good one and I would highly recommend this hotel,enjoyed our stay tremendously.

Lastly, as a historic hotel, we have over 120 different guestroom configurations. We have a small number of single king and queen bedded rooms are quite small by today’s standards. When our occupancy allows us to do so, our agents will review our guest’s requests and place our guests in room types that are above and beyond what has originally been reserved. Nevertheless, we regret this was a concern.

The Netherlands is a surprise from first entry to checkout. It is pure art deco inside with a brown and gold color scheme and eye opening wall and ceiling paintings and carvings. The paintings and decor take one back to better, less harried times. This Hilton property is a very eye pleasing and relaxing hotel with a central downtown location across the street from the fountain made famous in the opening of WKRP with exceptional restaurants close by and inside. An arcade and cross over help if the weather turns bad. The staff is excellent and meeting rooms are available for groups. Inside, valet parking is only $5 more daily than outside with in and out at no cost. Shopping, business and fine eating are all within a short walk. What an enjoyable experience.

Room Tip: Higher floors are better and try to get one on the river side.

I recently selfishly planned a couple of business meetings around a baseball weekend and stayed at this hotel.

Many of the reviews I had read prior and after are fairly accurate. The hotel does have a lot of charm and character.

Prior to arriving I had contacted the hotel about getting an early checkin. I arrived in Cincinnnati at 10am and had a 12pm lunch meeting. I had wanted to be able to check in and wash up. I was very happy with the hotel as they took this request from roughly a week prior and honored it.

I just have a few things I wanted to note about the hotel.

Service - Overall was excellent. Each touchpoint was a pleasant person willing to help

Lobby bar - Excellent place to end the night! Really enjoyed the old charm of it with the band and the overall ambience

Food - I didn't eat anything at the hotel

Parking - This is my only issue. The valet service is terrible. Correction.....the people working are nice and do what they can. But the nature of this hotel only allows for one lane coming in for people checking in, and for people retrieving their car. I don't really think there's a solution for this but this can be quite annoying when paying $25 a day for valet. I was stuck one day so long all the way onto the street waiting to check in for valet (which I already paid $25 for) that I had to abandon and pay an additional $12 I believe across the street. I wasn't thrilled with this.

Overall, excellent hotel, great charm and character and great service.

Lastly, please accept my apologies for your concerns regarding our valet parking operation. We regret that due to long wait periods you had to choose to self park after already paying for valet parking. Beginning in the fall, the new Mabley Garage which will be housed in the adjoining (former) Carew Tower Mall space, will be opened providing us with excellent access to parking including valet and self parking options.
