I really thought the hotel staff was very good. They were put under unique circumstances for our stay and I thought they handled it very well. A sudden and strong storm knocked the power out for the entire hotel. With small children they allowed us to cancel our room and choose another hotel. The storm obviously wasn't their fault and in my experience they attempted to everything possible to help out. I did find it weird that the hotel had little in terms of a generator or even safety emergency lights in the hallways. When I went to get our bags it was very dark in the hallways with no safety lighting at all except for the exit signs at the end of the hallways. The staff did offer to escort me to my room with a flashlight so that offer was available to me.

We were able to see the hotel during the daylight and it was what I would consider an average hotel. The first room was in rough shape (carpet issues) and we notified the staff and they quickly allowed us to move a few rooms over. The second room was much better and cleaner. In terms of expectations this hotel is a little older so it does show some wear and tear. I would give the staff 4 or 5 and the actual building a rating of 3.

Room Tip: Check-in is on the second floor and rooms on the first floor have a sliding glass windows. I probably would request a second floor or higher as the sliding glass doors didn't seem save to me.

Hello,
Thank you for providing feedback and comments. We were hit by a major storm and lost power for over 8 hours. Our staff quickly came together and provided as much service and safety as possible under the circumstances. Some of the staff already went home for the evening, thus came back to the hotel once they heard of the emergency. Needless to say, our staff is dedicated and take ownership when situations like this arise.
We appreciate your comments regarding the rooms and emergency generator. We can and will address these issues. We hope you will give us another chance in the very near future.
Sincerely,
Management

This is the second time my husband and I have stayed here. We book through Travelocity and have gotten a great deal both times - about $65. You would think for that price it wouldn't be great but it is. The breakfast is fabulous!! Free and tasty. The cinnamon rolls are a must! The room was really clean, a little muggy but not bad. The staff is really nice except for the woman in charge of breakfast. She was pretty crabby both times we stayed. The only drawback is the location. We went to a reds game and to kings island and it was at least fifteen minutes from both. But for the price it's not a big deal! We would certainly recommend this hotel!!

Dear Emily,
Thank you for providing us with your comments and valuable feedback. We work very hard to make sure every guest is taken care of at our award winning property. Kings Island and a Reds game in the same weekend, sounds like a great time! You can consider our location right in the middle....:-)
Can you tell us which night you stayed (so we can talk to the breakfast attendant)? (email: gm@hiecincinnatihotel.com).
We look forward to seeing you again.
Sincerely,
Management

Folks, we flew into Cinci for a family medical issue and had a terrible experience in Harrison Ohio at the Comfort Suites/Executive Inn. The place was absolutely horrible and dirty. The nearest hotel we could find that wasn't another pit was the HIE here on Rybolt Rd. The HIE in Harrison was booked (and now I know why, the rest of the hotels in Harrison are absolute pits), so we found accommodation at this HIE.

First off, the lobby was clean and smelled nice. Brenda, the evening clerk, listened to our horror story and worked with us to find the best rate possible (bereavement). This was a huge concern of ours since HIE was "about" $50 more a night than we had planned. We went to our room and, after seeing the hotel rooms in Harrison, this room was a Godsend. Clean, smelled nice, outstanding beds (I think they were Tempur-pedic), and nicely arranged. And, this hotel is not new.

Anyway, with the outstanding service from Brenda, the clean room, and the great morning breakfast, it made the additional expense much more tolerable and made our stay MUCH better than had we stayed in the dumps in Harrison.

Thanks Holiday Inn!

need a hotel at the north-western part of Cincinnati? then you will probably like this hotel. It is not very new but is well maintained. The outdoor pool could be inviting but it needs to be warmer outside than when we were there in late May. A full breakfast is included which is quite good, but also predictable. There is a shopping center within quarter of a mile with a few big stores. The staff are pleasant and our room was large.
