“Great all around experience”
Reviewed July 7, 2014

I stayed here for the 4th of July weekend, primarily for the Reds game. I'm from NYC and I like to go to a different baseball stadium every year. The hotel is in a great location in terms of the proximity to the stadium.
It’ll cost about $30-35 from the airport and will take approximately 15 minutes by cab. Checking in was a breeze. Liz and Heaven were both extremely helpful in answering all of my questions regarding the area.
There’s a market in the lobby that sells Starbucks coffee and a bunch of other ideal breakfast items, as well as salads for lunch. This is a great option for when you don’t want to spend too much and have a light meal.
The hotel bar was outstanding. I always sample local brews when I travel. Craig, the bartender, was great in providing info on the beer they had and the places they are brewed. They had a huge selection of local brews. The food was quite good as well. There was also a woman tending bar who was very nice but I don't remember her name.
The pool is on the 5th floor, it’s quite tiny but what I love about the Hyatt is they do utilize their space well. I spent a little time on the deck outside, and it was fine. Nothing fancy, but the option is there to use it. There is also a 24 hour gym located on the 2nd floor.
The room I was in was a king room. Like most rooms in Hyatt hotels the look of the room was very modern. Some reviewers have complained about the size but the room was perfect for me. There was plenty of space in the room which consisted of a desk/chair area, and another chair with an ottoman. There was enough closet space as well.
The staff was great, the room was great, and the location of the hotel was great.
It’s also a 20-30 minute walk or an 8 minute cab ride ($9.00) to Newport, KY. If you have time head over to Newport on the Levee. It’s got a bunch of bars, restaurants, an aquarium, a Game Works, a comedy club, and a bunch of shops. I had no plans to go there but I’m very glad I did. There are great views of the river and the Cincinnati skyline from there. I took a cab there and then walked over the bridge after.
I strongly recommend this hotel!!!

Thanks Mike for taking the time to write such an in-depth review. It is great that you travel to see baseball games and stadiums! We do have an awesome location to walk to both the Reds, and for football, the Bengals stadium too. We really appreciate your insights about your hotel stay. Thank you very much for calling out three of our associates for exceptional service. We are honored to receive your recommendation.

We stayed the night of July 5th. We made our reservation a week ahead of time. Check in was 4 pm and we arrived before 5 pm. The hotel was very clean and all the staff were courteous and helpful. The room was our only issue. It was clean but not big enough for even one adult. There were two adults that stayed and the hallway walking into the room, you had to practically turn sideways to get into the room. The bathroom wasn't big enough to turn around in. This room should have been a storage closet, not a paying guest room. I would not recommend accepting any rooms that end in 33. This is a corner room and I am sure it is the same on other floors.

Room Tip: Do not accept any rooms that end in 33.

Hi Leslie, we are sorry to hear our corner rooms did not meet your expectations. We have guests specifically ask for them for privacy and for views. If we had known, we could have moved you to a different room. Please let us know right away if there is ever anything we can do to make your stay great! Thank you.

We stayed at the Hyatt prior to a Red's game. The rooms were spacious and quite clean. The indoor pool is a bit on the small side, but covered by a nice atrium ceiling. It was kid friendly at 3'8" and met our needs. But above all, the staff at this hotel are incredibly nice and accommodating. From the maid who offered my son a dry towel as we were walking the halls after leaving the pool, to the front desk agent who sent my sons cookies and milk with a personalized note! What a great hotel experience! We will definitely stay again!

I traveled to Cincinnati to visit family. My son is handicapped and needed a room with a roll-in shower and two beds. The room was big enough to accommodate driving the wheelchair into it. The bath room was also big enough to drive the wheelchair into. The shower was a full roll in without any lip. The toilet isn't a handicapped height. But for my son and I the room was really great. The service was excellent. The hotel restaurant was also very good. We really enjoyed our stay!

From checking in to checking out, the entire process including the stay was smooth and the staff was very courteous. For some reason there was a problem with the wifi and one phone call to the engineering department resolved the issue and they were very apologetic for the inconvenience. They also provided free breakfast for the inconvenience and ensured that the rest of my stay was as comfortable as possible.

Great hotel in the heart of the downtown area. Walk to everything. Lobby big and lots of window and a large glass roof, so spacious. Check in easy, room ready, valet parking. Rooms are very large and comfy beds. The fitness center is nice and the pool is I door, but it has a nice Sundeck to enjoy. Walkway to parking.

When we checked in we were created warmly by the hotel desk staff. The valet parking was a problem. They either had too few workers or not properly trained. It took 10 minutes for them to take our keys. When we would ask for our car at a slow time it took up to 30 minutes to get the car.

The bar is too much glass and metal. It makes the noise reverberate so much you can barely hear people at you table. When you are trying to talk to business people that you are trying to get acquainted with this is a problem. Also, not much choice in draft beer. The noise is not because of loud music. They had games on with the sound off.

The rooms are nice and bed is comfortable. The only issue that I had with the room is that the cups they supply did not fit the coffee maker and I had to hold both the coffee maker and cup up at an angle for the coffee to drain into cup.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We are so glad that you found the rooms comfortable and to your liking. The Red Roost Tavern bar can get a little noisy depending on what day it is -- there is always the dining area or our "Library" off the lobby for quieter conversations. Thank you.
