One of my best stays ever at a hotel. I stayed here for a week during August 2013 while attending a conference at the Duke Convention Center. The room that I got was on the 14th floor with a lovely view of the Ohio River; looked spectacular at night. The reception and room staff were very attentive and helpful during my entire stay. The complimentary breakfast served was delicious; more variety than your standard free continental breakfasts available at most hotels. The hotel is centrally located and is in walking distance from most restaurants and shopping places in Cincinnati downtown.

Room Tip: Request for a room on the top floor with a view of the Ohio River when making the reservation.

We booked this hotel due to its proximity downtown to Great American Ballpark. Like Cleveland, this central location was convenient to a number of attractions and very safe for walking. The hotel had changed some of its format due to a recent refurbishing (bar had changed from Sports Bar to Hotel Bar). Our package included breakfast, which was excellent. The swimming pool was very nice, as was the fitness center. No Jacuzzi, though.

Room Tip: Try to get an upper room overlooking the Ohio River...you will see not only the river but the Bengals' and Reds' ballparks.

The Hyatt was a great location for my hotel in Cincinnati. I went there for the annual Octoberfest the city holds. Service at the bar was good the first night but really slow the second night and the next day.
The rooms were clean and comfortable. The key card locks are very fussy. It took me multiple times and varying speeds to finally get the door to open. The key also went blank twice and I had to go downstairs and get it reprogrammed.
For the location, the Hyatt is great. Just be prepared to spend some money.

Given the price that one pays my 6 day stay was very average. The building and rooms were obviously recently redone (one of the elevators was still being worked on) and therefore clean and fresh. The service was good, but lacked heart. Although I was always helped most of the times it felt rehearsed and forced, not natural and welcoming. I got the feeling that some of the staff feels that answering and helping is a bit beyond them, but, *sigh* must do it... Breakfast on some of the days were rather cramped with clearly not enough staff and tables available for the morning rush.
Would I stay here again? Possibly, but not definitely - it is rather convenient when you must be at the Duke Energy Convention Center! Maybe some people will find the aloof service attractive, but if you are an ordinary guy like me it's more than a bit irritating.

I first visited the Cincinnati Hyatt a few years ago and was not impressed. The lobby was outdated, the restaurant was a sad excuse for a sports bar and the rooms felt like they were in a time warp. I went back a month or so ago and it was a whole new hotel. Everything feels modern and well trout out. The restaurant was refreshing - locally sourced products, innovative dishes, they even had a selection of local craft beers, not just the big names. They have a really cool market in the lobby with gifts and food to go and a place to work with free wifi and restaurant service in the evenings.

I was very pleasantly surprised by what I found and will definitely be back.
