We are regulars at Nectar and our most recent visit didn't disappoint. What I like most about Julie Francis' food is the interesting combination of flavors that creates sophisticated but not overly busy or fussy food. It is just so good. Tonight was local poached asparagus with crab salad finished with a light dijon and pesto 'sauce', freekeh (a middle eastern grain) with sauteed leeks, mushrooms and sorrel sauces, a chilled eggplant soup and a lightly spiced masala fruit salad with carrots and pineapple sorbet. I don't know why this restaurant doesn't get higher ratings for food because it is some of the most delightful cuisine in Cincinnati. The service can be uneven, and this seems to upset a lot of people. And the wine list is limited. This aside I always look forward to eating here. Go Julie!
