We had pork belly steamed buns and wontons (small plate substitution for out-of-season squash blossoms) as starters. Wontons were crispy with interesting sauces, but the pork belly buns are a “must have.” Opting for a less filling meal we had the grilled peach salad, grilled shrimp tacos, and tonight’s special, seared foie gras. For dessert, the chocolate torte with seared marshmallows. The flavors were excellent, portion sizes were not overly generous, but filling. Craft cocktails (Resurrection and Manhattan) are very good. We saw the pork chop entrée being served at other tables and it looked delicious and is HUGE. They tout “made from scratch” with the advice that it may take a while to get your food; however, with a full dining room, the plates came out in a timely manner. Special shout out to Sybilka (she calls herself the Polish girl), our wait person. She was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the menu. The venue is, thankfully, not too noisy – rather a nice murmur of happy diners. As visitors from Charlotte, it will be sometime before we’re back to the “other Queen City”, but when we come, Red Feather will be a repeat.
