Budget Host Town Center Motel

I don't normally write reviews on hotels (only one previously), but felt the urge to write a review of this place as my girlfriend and I took pictures of the rooms (something the other reviews lacked).

I booked the motel online and was intending to stay for two nights with my girlfriend. Check-in went well (with the exception of a rowdy noise from the adjoining bar - it was only 4.30pm!)

Gaining access to our room involved avoiding the hornets nest which was situated at the foot of our door, but we were finally relieved to get into the room. That was until we turned the lights on.

Not only was the bathroom an absolute mess that not even cockroaches would frequent, but the curtains appeared to have been last cleaned during the 1970s. By the look of the blood-like substance on both the ceiling and lampshade, it appeared as if the last people who used our room were probably Crime Scene Investigators.

The room had 'No Smoking' signs in it, but there was an evident smell of smoke which could not be expelled due to the windows not being able to open.

My girlfriend wanted to leave immediately, and after I discovered chewing gum stuck to the wall, I agreed. We stayed at a Super 8 nearby (which was not only far superior, but also cheaper too).

Unlike previous reviews, I was fortunate enough to get a refund for the second night for which I did not stay.

At time of writing this, I cannot believe it isn't bottom of the Cincinnati hotels.

Stayed: August 2007

this place was absolutely a joke. We came into town to watch the Red's game and the sheets were nasty, the rooms look like they hadn't been cleaned in years. There were large holes in the walls, ashes in the toilets that had suppossedly just been cleaned. The rooms smelled old, mildew and musty. The sheets were a dingy yellow color. Great place for the prostitutes that came to stay the night that we decided to not stay at all. We paid for the room and then told the manager that we weren't going to stay because it was so nasty. If I ever see the words Budget and Host in a hotel name, I will know better next time. The hotel staff were all missing teeth, shaggy hair, couldn't spell and were drunk by the time we got back from the game. If you want to go home with some kind of disease or bed bite, stay at this place. I wouldn't even let my worst enemy stay at this rat hole.

Well, in a nut shell this hotel was WAY TOO BAD TO EVEN STAY!!!!!!! My husband, myself and 2 other couples had gone to Cincinnati for a Reds game and booked this hotel online. When we first got there we knew it was going to be bad when we were checking in and the sign on the front of the office door said "No Pet No Drug." When we first walked into each room, we were disgusted!!! The rooms all had a smokey and down right nasty smell to them. There were numerous burn holes on the tables, the bed sheets had an almost brown tinge to them and the bathrooms were so bad I wouldn't let my dog go in there!!!! When we returned back to the hotel, we had made a majority decision to not even stay there, we decided to drive over 100 miles home at 12am and forfeit the money, just to avoid staying the night in the filth and wondering what type of disease or critter was going to be on us when we got up the next morning!!!!! I would NEVER recommend this hotel to anyone!!!!!!!! I can honestly say that was the best $50 I have ever lost in my life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bed sheets were filthy, mattress looked like it had a large blood stain on it. Television had no remote control. Bathroom looked like it hadn't been cleaned since the hotel opened. Fifty dollars per night is about 10x too expensive. I tried to leave after the first night but was informed that I would forfeit the money I had paid for the other two nights. I'm fairly certain there was atleast one drug deal going down, and there were numerous prostitues wandering around the location.

I am 54 years old. My wife and I drove over 600 miles to visit our son at UC and arrived late and tired. I have never paid to feel this contaminated. The sanitized ribbon was in place despite fecal splatter on the bowl. There were burn resin stains on the sink rim, and countless burn holes in the carpet. The blanket looked like it had been used to change oil under a truck, and despite 40 degree weather we did not turn on the heating unit to disturb the thick hanging dust... did not want to inhale... whatever. For the evening I retrieved blankets from the car. There was only 1 working light bulb in the room, and everything we took in will need to be laundered to get out the cig stench... there is no such thing as a smoke free room. There is a NO REFUND sign and you are required to pay in full upon registering.... I had reserved 2 nites but left ASAP the first morning without arguing over the refund thing. Keep driving, a few miles up the road there are plenty of "real" hotels with rates of just a few dollars more.

I feel compelled to write this review because I want to warn you about this motel. I am 30 years old, and I'm afraid this is one of the worst dumps I have ever had the misfortune to visit. First of all, I had made online reservations, but they had no record of it when we arrived. Second, when we arrived in our room, a stale smoky smell greeted us, along with a rusty-looking toilet, yucky fixtures, and a general shabbiness. I wish I could show a photo to do this description justice. The napkin-sized towels and lumpy pillows really sealed the deal. In retrospect, mea culpa. I guess I should have known somehow, since the rate was $45. Anyway, anyone who cares about his accommodations enough to look at this website will not want to stay here. Trust me.
