“Fun, educational visit”

Krohn Conservatory is a nice little stop to take in the beauty of nature and see vegetation from different climates. There are several different rooms contatining various plants: rainforest room, desert room, bonsai tree room, orchid room and outside plants, too. We spent about an hour there, tossing a penny in for luck before heading to the Cincinnati Art Museum right up the road. A nice stop if going to the Cincinnati Art Museum or Mount Adams, and FREE!. A drive through Mt. Adams is recommended.

“Suprisingly Fun”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 2, 2009

We visited this site partly because of the other reviews we saw on TripAdvisor and partly because we enjoy flowers and plants. It was well worth the time to go there and it was especially fun for my daughter to snap photos on the digital camera. The people that worked there were definitely friendly and true plant lovers.

“Absolutely Beautiful”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 18, 2008

I love this place and have been several times due to living in Cincinnati in the past. To me Christmas is the best time to go but I wouldn't turn a trip to the conservatory down anytime. I love it!

“Beautiful little conservatory!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 8, 2008

This is a very nice smaller sized conservatory. It's kept up well and the day we were there we were thrilled to see displays of various bonsai trees. One room which was amazing was a room filled with orchids. It's a smaller sized conservatory so everyone could easily get around within it. (those needing a wheelchair would be limited in the areas they could access)

“Worth your Time”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 3, 2008

The Krohn Conservatory is an excellent trip just outside the hustle and bustle of downtown Cincinnati.

We arrived when it opened and were able to park in a small lot just out pack. They actually have nice, clean restrooms just inside the front door (so don't worry about having to use some of the portable units elsewhere in the park).

When you first walk in, there's a large jungle walk located in front of you, completed with an indoor waterfall. Off to the left is a room of more tropical plants. To the left, are wings with cacti, succulents, orchids, and bonsai. Part of another area to the left was closed off, as they were changing over the special exhibit.

We spent about 45 minutes here. It's not an all-day thing. We went through at a relatively slow pace, but there's not that much too unique compared to other places we've been garden-wise.

I recommend stopping at the front visitor information office. The staff member there was very helpful and gave me a map of the park and directions on how to get around.

There is a nice area off to the side if you want to bring your lunch and picnic. There are tables and chairs outside there, near a piece of petrified wood.
