Love the place: the staff have somehow all been recruited from the "flower child, beautiful" people 60s California world--just wonderful to deal with. It's fish is the best in town. And it's wonderful to find items like persimmons there in season.

Eating lunch at the Whole Foods (ne Wild Oats) picnic tables is a fun adventure. After picking from the hot foods, or (my favorite) getting a custom sandwich, you can eat and enjoy the ambiance. It's now possible to enjoy a craft, draft beer with your lunch. A tremendous number of hippie/goth employees wandering around mean there's always something to look at while you eat. And they are always friendly if you need help or just want to chat. It would be nice if one of them would take a minute from their busy day to wipe off the tables; that small gesture would really improve the armosphere. Whole Foods is younger and more stylish than Kroger or Remke could ever hope to be; and it mostly attracts a younger and more stylish crowd. There's some confusion -- encouraged, no doubt, by the Whole Foods corporation -- about the "organic-ness" of the place. It's NOT totally organic. Read signs/labels carefully if that's a concern for you. Or ask the friendly employees. They'll tell you honestly what is organic and what is not.

For lunch and grocery shopping. Many organic items. The salad bar is awesome with lots of veggies and protein choices.

I visit Wild Oats which is now called Whole Foods approx
every 2 weeks. Great selection of organic foods that you cannot fine elsewhere. Their name brand products are reasonably priced, although some of the independent brands can be on the expensive side. Nice to have a store with organic
meats, chicken and fish not contaminated with hormones, pesticides ect. They also have a great bakery that includes vegan baked goods. You can also eat there, they will make sandwiches fresh, hot bar and salad bar available during lunch, dinner and weekends with excellent well prepared selection of food with many vegetarian and vegan options.
