By sheer accident, we were directed to Anderson Ferry by our poorly porgrammed GPS which took us from I-75 during the worst winter storm of the season. As if the hill leading to the ferry wasn't enough of an 'adventure', we were a little intimidated by the icy river and tired-looking boat that greeted us however we cast worry aside to venture aboard. The ferry was run by three funny, friendly 'mountain men' who guided our van onto the deck and took our $5.00 fare. The short ride across the muddy river was a thrill for our kids who had never been on a ferry before. We found the trip to be smooth, convenient and prompt.

This is just such a novel way of traveling! Love taking the grandkids and watching their faces as we get onto the ferry, and then they always get out of the car to see the river as we cross. Just a wonderful 5 minutes to relax.

It's fun to take the Ferry to Kentucky and drive in the country. It's a nice way to spend an afternoon in the Spring.

It's the quickest way to the airport from Delhi or Hillside but I'm not so sure it's so convenient for anyone else! You can avoid 75 and 275 traffic which is nice when you're in a hurry. But I wouldn't drive the hill in the snow.

This is a sign of being a true westsider if it takes you too long to get here you are not really on the west side. Good deal also on bikes or for walkers pretty scenic at the right times of the year and just cool to take a ferry that has been in service so long across the river.
