Description: For Jeff Ruby, this is the steakhouse that started it all. In 1981, The Precinct was born in the former Cincinnati Police Patrol House Number 6. This turn-of-the-century, Romanesque-style structure would hold what is now the longest, continuously running white tablecloth restaurant in the city. Recently named one of America's Top 10 Steakhouses by USA Today and Gayot.com, The Precinct is frequently recognized as having Cincinnati’s best steaks, seafood and service. This consistent high level of quality and overall guest experience over 3 decades has endeared Precinct to celebrities, businesspeople, families and loyal diners alike.

“One of the best steakhouses Cincinnati.”

I absolutely love the steak that the chefs clearly care about and that they are proud to present this to you. It’s a friendly atmosphere and the staff are pleasant and clearly enjoy working at the restaurant. I thoroughly enjoyed the steak, it was tremendous. I ordered a medium rare steak and I was not disappointed whatsoever. I will definitely be returning to this restaurant. It’s a lovely restaurant that really strives to serve you the best steak that they can. They see it as such a tradition in a sense that it really does add to the effect. You cannot go to this restaurant and not order the steak. It’s nothing less than delicious.

“Always the Best”
Reviewed December 2, 2013

The wife and I went to the Precinct to celebrate our birthdays. It is her favorite place for special occasions. The steaks and entire meal were delicious as always. We have never been disappointed by either the service or the food. We will be back as soon as we can.

Nothing beats the steak at this place! The garlic mashed potatoes and the Freddie salad are also a must.

“Disappointing”
Reviewed November 6, 2013 via mobile

Two couples were there to celebrate an anniversary. Had a 9:15 reservation on a recent Saturday night. Had a drink in the bar before dinner. Crowded and loud which was to be expected. However, service was very uneven. Had to ask 3 different people for water and never did receive it. We were seated at a table in the middle of the room where they prepare the bananas foster. twice we were told to lean away as they flamed up the brandy for the dessert preparation. Some of the brandy was spilled on my wife's sweater. No apologies from the staff. No one should ever! be seated at that table unless they are told in advance there are going to be flame ups right at the end of the table. No excuse when we made our reservations a week in advance. The server was pleasant but uninterested in our service. The steaks were good, and the lobster tail was to die for; however, one surf and turf, one beer, and one glass of wine for $146 seems a bit excessive. Never, ever, let them seat you at the table where the bananas foster is being prepared!

“best steak ever”
Reviewed November 4, 2013

The best strip steak ever. Seasoned well, perfectly seared and cooked to textbook medium rare. The Bearnaise was right on and tghe crab and asparagus topping was heavenly. I started with three large tiger shrimp which were served in formal style. They were chilled and huge and delicious. We had way too much food and so asked for left-overs to be packed. This was artfully done and delivered in black cloth bags with handles.
We had a female server and she was excellent. I did notice not all of the servers posessed the class our server had. Expensive yes, but memorable.
