Nothing impressive.. I'm sure the fountain has its story, but it´s not espectacular. Around it you will find several places to eat (some too expensive). There are also music festivals in the afternoon. Once you are downtown you can walk around a calm beautiful city. Try to make it to the bridge it´s not that far

For a big city, not to hard to get around. Parked in Fountain Square parking garage, across the street from Fountain Square. Lots of places to eat, lots of things to see, many stores. Go the visitor center located right by Fountain Square, they can give you a street map and attractions nearby. They were very helpful. Don't miss a trip to the top of Carew Tower where you can see the entire Cincinnati area. This the home of the Reds Baseball team and the Bengals football, stadiums are nearby. Be prepared to walk a lot.

Fountain square isn't a huge place, but it's located in an area of places to eat and drink. The square often has music or other festivals. The architecture of the fountain is very interesting and worth a close up look. The area was generally clean with just a few homeless people traversing the area looking for handouts. Both times I was there the area seemed safe.

We spent a week in Cincinnati a block down 5th street from the square. There are several places to eat around and near here and it seems that there is an event on the square about every night. The area is as safe as you will find in any large city, with enough police presence to discourage criminal activity The fountain "The genius of water" is really something to see and has a very interesting history.

Caught a free concert in the park while in Cincinnati. This park has plenty of small tables and chairs for patrons to sit and listen. Also a huge screen is capturing everything on stage so you don't miss any of the action.
