We went here for my niece's birthday lunch/dinner.
I was excited that I didn't have to pay a separate price for noodles. Because I don't like rice.

I was a little surprised at the rice portion that everyone else was receiving, it was very small.
The manager (I believe he may have been the owner) came by and the next thing we know he had sent out more rice for everyone.
The staff was very nice and helpful.
The restaurant was clean and good food!

Three of us had dinner here recently and chose this restaurant because they were listed as having hibachi tables/chefs. The restaurant is nicely setup such that if you want a quiet romantic dinner you can set at the booths on one side or if you are interested in enjoying a hibachi show/dinner you are seated in that area. We were seated with 6 recent high school graduates and a mature couple on a first date and yet did not feel we were impinging or being impinged upon by their conversations.
The wine by the glass is a generous pour and the hibachi meals relatively inexpensive with the vegetarian starting at $14 and the Kobe beef topping out at $60 more or less.Dinners include soup, salad, rice, vegetables and two shrimp in addition to the salmon, chicken, shrimp, lobster steak etc you have selected.
Our dinners, the service and the hibachi show were great.

We've visited twice and both times the food was very good. Their house wines are a blend called Apothic and they are nondescript, but there are other good wine and sake choices and a full bar. Their sushi is especially good. Although, when it comes to their sushi, the array of over-done, over-wrought, over-thought rolls is a bit dizzying. They truly excel in the simple ones where the quality of the fish stands on its own. Their teriyaki is also very good and not one of those typical overly salty versions. The service is good. The night we had a rather inexperienced server, the other waiters were vigilant and made sure we were satisfied. We've not yet tried their hibachi side of the restaurant, but plan to do so. Oh, and their decor is really nice and creates a great atmosphere. You would never know this place was previously a Max and Erma's. The place is appropriately and richly dark with blacks and enough pops of art, color and a stunning, yet subtle water feature.

The ginger salad dressing was great! We went on a Sunday night and they were not extremely busy so there was no excuse for the poor service. We had to flag down the server everytime we needed another drink. The hibatchi was great and the chef provided a wonderful show. When it came time to get the check the server was no where to be seen for 10 minutes and then it took almost 20 minutes for him to get us checked out (we had a Groupon and they were having problems with it).

A new opening near Kenwood Mall; offers sushi and hibachi tables. The setup is very nice, with the regular tables and hibachi separated in two areas. The menu is very good, complete and creatively presented. The presentation is even too much for Japanese style. Same with hibachi show - the food is delicious but the entertainment a bit noisy. The sushi is outstanding, simply delicious. The pricing for lunches is very cheap and for dinner average, all definitely worth going. As the place has recently opened, they still have few things to fix: my wife likes shitake mushrooms and they have some in the menu - but what they served were regular champignon mushrooms...When we complained, we got shitake served on the small plate. A bit confusing if not funny...The staff was also confused. Anyway, the got things sorted quickly. We will go there again and hopefully no more surprises as the Arirang is worth coming back for.
