We ate at A Tavola before attending the Cincinnati Opera. The restaurant is convenient to Music Hall. They do not take reservations and fill up fast, so we were advised to eat on the early side. They also do not seat partial groups, so we had to wait until our entire party arrived, which caused me some anxiety. However, it all worked out. The food and the service were both excellent. I found the restaurant to be noisy, but I find most restaurants to be noisy.

A friend and I recently made a trip to Cincinnati to see an opera. The hotel we were staying in suggested A Tavola to us, as it was walking distance from both the hotel and Music Hall.

The atmosphere is wonderful, the staff is friendly, and the food is delicious! All at an affordable price.

We shared a Sweet Pea & Bacon pizza. It was amazing! Then came gelato! The salted caramel and the strawberry basalmic were both great!

This is definitely a must visit place while you're in the area!

We went to A Tavola on a Friday night around 9:30 pm. It was packed and hopping, but we were able to get seated with 20 minutes.

Immediately, we found the service friendly and warm and it remained so throughout our visit. This is always a plus.

We started with local beers and a low-alcohol, house-made ginger beer. All were refreshing and interesting. As an appetizer, we ordered the Roasted Cauliflower. It was tasty and provided plenty for the three of us. For our mains, we had the Brussel Sprout and Artichoke pizzas. The Brussel Sprout pizza came topped with roasted brussel sprouts, caramelized onions, and fontina cheese. It was addictive and delicious! We highly recommend it.

The Artichoke pizza normally comes with artichokes, basil pesto, tomato sauce, and goat cheese mozzarella. As it was late in the evening, we elected to drop the basil pesto, and that was a mistake. This allowed the goat cheese to overpower the other flavors and also left the pizza less snappy than we heard it was. Thus, it was tasty, but missing a key ingredient (our fault). Our suggestion, order the pizzas as designed to get the right balance of flavors.

What helps make the pizzas and other food so unique is that A Tavola cooks in a 1,000°F wood-fired brick oven. The friendly staff showed us the oven after our meal and even how they take its temperature.

For food, atmosphere, and service, we recommend A Tavola.

The wood-fired pizzas were amazing. Definitely one of the best places for pizzas ever :) The ambiance was very relaxed. Cool place!
