Good food, a little underwhelmed by Cabernet selection, great service. Pleasant dining room but so loud we couldn't hear each other. Everyone else in the dining room was booming loud. That really detracts from what should be a nice conversation over dinner.

It had been about a year since we last dined at La Poste but were happpy to find it just as good as before. Alhough pricey, I especially enjoyed the special, a 12 oz Ribeye with crab, red wine demi-glace and bearnaise.

Service was excellent, perhaps a little "too" attentive and personal but still excellent. I especially enjoy a restaurant that utilizes multiple staff to serve the entrees .

As mentioned by others, the main dining room is a bit noisy, but it seems more restaurants are.

I have dined here many times, since my office takes guests here frequently. The food is very good, especially the ravioli, scallops (I wish the poached egg fad would pass), and the bread pudding. Our table of five all enjoyed their food. However, when we got the bill there was an automatic 20% tip added on! I understand this practice for tables of 8 or more, but 5? And 20%? That seems presumptuous, and honestly the service was not exceptional. I was not paying the bill, and the one who was did not feel comfortable making a fuss with a guest along, so we let it pass. But be warned. I really don't remember this practice in the past, and I may take our guests elsewhere in the future.

And the noise level was too high to hear those on the other side of the table.

Excellent food, great server, nice neighborhood. Four in our group, celebrating two birthdays. Complimentary champagne toast to start the evening. We skipped the starters and elected to try most of the sides. Entrees were cod, braised beef shank, and bouillabaisse from the menu, and the walleye special. Everyone was happy. We had the greens, polenta, grilled bread, and pomme frites sides. The pomme frites and aioli dipping sauce were especially good. Jody did a great job as our server and let us taste a couple of wines to help us choose. Very noisy in the main dining room. The wine cellar room looked like it would be quieter. Didn't look at the dessert menu because we were craving Graeter's ice cream, which is just a couple doors away.

With attentive staff and a not too crowded dining area, this French American eatery offers something unexpected. Mushroom ravioli is a favorite, but everything we've had has been very good. The special of the night recently was a filet--so rich and delicious.
