You must start out by understanding that Value Place is more like an apartment with some bonuses included. This was my first time staying with Value Place. I have stayed in extended stay hotels before. This is much less than an extended stay hotel. This is the reason I compare it to an apartment with bonuses. My reservation was originally for Tuesday June 17, 2014. I ended up being delayed in Atlanta. I called to notify them of this delay and added that I really needed the room and I was ok with just paying for the night. When I arrived, my room had been cancelled. They still managed to get me into a room. Mia at the front desk was very friendly and truly made us feel welcome. The GM was also readily available and very welcoming. All of the staff were friendly and spoke every time we saw them. The housekeeper followed up to make sure we had what we needed. Even for a lower priced room, I did not expect such a tiny bed. I have been in as small as a full size bed. This had to be even smaller. I will add that I am 6'4". This was a tad uncomfortable. There was a smell that we knew smelled like cigarette smoke, but was not quite as strong, that was ever present. We sprayed Lysol constantly and even purchased some scent balls; nothing helped. Also, the water pressure left quite a bit to be desired. Last but not least, the walls and windows are fairly thin.
I cannot say that I was unhappy, but I also cannot say that I was satisfied with conditions there. I want to stress to those reading this review. Think of this place as moving into an apartment with some added cleaning benefits. You are pretty much on your own in terms of this feeling anything like a hotel.
In conclusion, I am not sure if I will use Value Place again because I can usually afford to stay in a standard hotel. If I need cheap fairly clean accommodations, I guess this chain would be at the top of my list. I hope this in-depth review helps someone looking to stay at this or any Value Place.
