“Worth the time!”
Reviewed August 29, 2013

Its does not take long to go though, unless you are looking at both the decor and the art like I was, but this little gem surprised me. Not only is there early art - medieval religious relics - but something from every century since. Both American and European Masters, this collection is one I would have chosen if I had been picking. Not a lot, but then stuff here is exquisite.
Tip: go around luch and enjoy the on-sight Cafe - good as well.

For a small museum they really have a fine collection. There's parking in the back. It's worth a visit.

“An art lover's dream”
Reviewed August 19, 2013

Turned off by large art galleries that can be so tiring and with far too much to absorb in one visit? The Taft is a perfect antidote. In an hour and a half, you can see at slow pace a superb collection of art, including some wonderful French Impressionists, which are favorites for even the novice art lover. The Dutch Masters collection and the American works are equally impressive, as are the Turners, Gainsboroughs and Whistlers. All this on one floor set in a mansion. After visiting art museums throughout the world, I rate this as one of the most user friendly galleries, second only to the Mauritshaus in The Hague.

“Early American Photography Exhibit worth Visit”
Reviewed August 11, 2013

The exhibit of daguerreotypes was as good as any small traveling exhibit that I have seen. As usual, the gallery arrangement for this collection from Kansas City, was stellar. In a very short time, one gained an amazing amount of info about this early form of photography.

Catch it while you can.

By the way, this great little museum is free on Sundays.
