My daughter recommended this restaurant that I hadn't heard of yet. We were blown away by the flavor of the food. The deconstructed ratatouille had such delicious flavor we ate the juices with a spoon. The mushroom soup make me swoon with every bite. The Viennese Schnitzel was authentic and beautifully presented. My husband loved his grilled octopus. Service was casual friendly. We appreciated the manager's table stop and told him we would put in a good review with TA and would return again!

While visiting with some friends at the Netherland Hilton, Cincinnati Ohio. Our waiter, Mason, at the Palm Court Bar recommended Bauer Farm Kitchen for dinner. Stating it was one of his favorite places to eat in Downtown Cincinnati. It was just a short walk from the Netherland Hilton.

We were pleasantly surprised upon arrival with the rustic decor of the restaurant. Bauer offers a menu of French-German cuisine. Our waiter, Clarence, was very attentive and knowledge as he guided us through the menu.

All 4 of us were quite pleased with our meal choices and cocktails. Between the 4 of us we had the following: (Appetizers) Seasonal Sausage and Whipped Wagyu Bone Marrow. (Entrees) Viennese Schnizel; Oxtail Stew; Jaeger Schnizel and Saubdrbraten Short Ribs. The food was excellent. My Short Ribs were the best I have ever eaten at any restaurant.

Luckily for my husband and I we live only 17 miles from downtown Cincinnati. We will definitely be returning to Bauer Farm Kitchen.

Side note. The ladies restroom was unbelievably clean with a very nice scent. Gotta love an exceptional restroom LOL.

We traveled from Indianapolis to have dinner at Bauer after reading rave reviews and it did not disappoint. Instead of ordering traditional entrees, we opted to try an assortment of appetizers which worked out perfectly. The spaetzle, flammkuchen, pierogies and sausage were all excellent as was their beer selection. We ended up having to box some up since the portions on appetizers were pretty healthy. We'll definitely be back!

Matthew, it is wonderful to hear that the trek from Indy was worth it! Sounds like you enjoyed some of our best takes on traditional German dishes - and some of my favorites. Hope to see you again soon!

We went on a Wednesday and the place was packed. The waitress said they were busier then normal and were short-staffed. Perhaps that was why there were a number of deficiencies. All food was warm but not hot. My guess is that that the food sat around prior to being brought to the table. We wanted to order a bottle of wine from their wine book and asked for advice. They said somebody would come to the table but they never did. They just sent a sample of a wine by the glass. Definitely a missed sale. The food dishes were OK but we have had better examples elsewhere. Give this place a pass since there are lots of outstanding restaurants downtown.

We had a delicious dinner that was NYC style, if not above. The food was creative (smoked grapes in the salad), the ambiance was pleasant & the waitress was friendly & knowledgeable. The wine list was comprehensive as well. The manager stopped & chatted too. You can tell that the chef knows his business. We'll return soon; it's worth the drive!
