“Great place to walk”

Spring Grove Cemetery & Arboretum

This is one of our favorite places to walk. Yes, it's a cemetery but it's one of the most beautifully landscaped parklike places you'll ever go. It's huge, with enormous mausoleums, lakes and gorgeous foliage. I had wedding pictures taken here years ago and they were amazing. Get a map so you don't miss the interesting historical monuments (civil war generals, giants of industry). If you can, sign up for a guided walk to learn all about the place.

I have been to the Spring Grove Cemetery several times now for walking and interpretive hikes. You tend to forget it is a cemetery with all the lovely flora. The cypress around the pond is one of my favorite areas. Full of history too - you will see some familiar names on monuments. This place is quite popular for walking and there are even signs suggesting routes by mileage!

Lots of walkers here, and can't say I blame them. This is a beautiful area, and the landscaping among the stones and monuments is spectacular. Everything good that was said previously, ditto. Glad we visited.

What more could you want? This cemetery is stunning and free to experience. You can see tombs and monuments dating back to the 17th century. There is gothic and colonial architecture, massive sculptures, busts, and buildings, and beautiful foliage. This is a wonderful place to go to experience history and see beautiful examples of art and architecture - and it's free.

Absolutely beautiful. One of the prettiest places I have ever been in my life, which is crazy because it is a cemetery.
