Owner description: This second oldest zoo in the U.S., considered one of the best in the country, is most renowned for its endangered species and birthing programs, particularly for gorillas and white tigers, and has a wonderful collection of felines and a delightful manatees exhibit.

My family and I visited the Zoo last september, the weather was great and we enjoyed the remodelling that have been made to the place in the past few years. Efforts have been made to make this place more "natural" and green. The plants, trees and flowers and wonderful!
The only thing we can regret is the size of the cages of certain animas like the panthers etc. it's really heartbreaking to see them turn around and around...

We like to visit the zoo in each city we travel to and were thrilled by the Cincinnati Zoo. We live in St. Louis and, as you know, our zoo is very well known for it's animals/exhibits. All of us were very impressed with the enclosures and the animals showcased. The inhabitants really seemed to be happy. We would definately recommend this zoo to everything we know!

Given the age of the zoo and the landlocked postion downtown this is an excellent facility. The botanical garden aspect adds greatly to the experiance. Will be back, we loved it.

My husband and I went to the zoo in October 2009. The weather was perfect.. not too hot..not too cold. Had LOTS of animals, even a small petting area. The botanical garden part was o.k. which it looked that they could have been remodeling it. When we first got there, we wanted to get some coffee, but the concession was closed. The confessions do not open until a hour or so after the park. The tickets are reasonable, and you could probably find them on eBay cheaper than buying them at the zoo. Don't waste your $ on the ride ticket, no need for it. Also, don't waste your $ going on a 4D ride. It only lasts 3 minutes or so and not very fun. The area of the zoo isn’t the best (VERY rough when drive up to the zoo)..try and get there early and park as close to the zoo as possible. We would go back again.. but there are better attractions and zoo's in the state of OH.

I liked the variety of animals and they layout is easy to get around. We also REALLY liked the lorakeet enclosure. If you go buy the necter it will easily be the best dollar you ever spend. The little birds are super friendly and cute (if you are scared of birds though stay out). The red pandas were neat as was the Sumatran Rhino. Be sure to ask for the AAA discount as it is not displayed anywhere.
