“Interesting Zoo”
Reviewed January 30, 2014

We recently visited the zoo. It was wintertime and several of the exhibits were closed as another member wrote. However, we felt it was worth the stop. They have several animals that you don't typically get to see at many zoos, such as manatees, red pandas, bearcats, siberian lynx. We would like to go back one day when it is warmer out and more of the exhibits (animals like the gorillas, rhinos, cheetahs, and lion are out and about.) Even though the zoo is located in town, it is actually well laid out to maximize the exhibits and is larger than we thought it would be. They also have a train, carousel, and 4-D theater (but they were closed til March).

“Fun day and a nice walk!”
Reviewed January 20, 2014

I went to the zoo during a visit from my boyfriend. It was the perfect thing to do. We go to talk and walk and see the available animals. It was the nicest day in weeks, so we got lucky.

“Skip in the winter”
Reviewed January 20, 2014

I went in the winter.. " penguin day pricing " 1/2 off... Well I have a reciprocity membership from another zoo so that irrelevant... There just not set up for winter visitors.. Animals off display left and right.. There couldn't have been 50 cars in the lot on a Sunday midday...

I did see several animals that I had never seen before at any zoo, so that made up slightly for a huge chunk of the animals being tucked away for the winter... I can also honestly say that I didn't see ANY workers once thru the gate.. And MOST paths weren't shoveled to any extent at all... As well as steps...

Toledo, Columbus , and Cleveland zoo all are much better ( especially Toledo ) .. Even in the summer, this zoo was a tad spartan...

3 star zoo... 1 star experience in the winter

15 bux and 9 dollar parking is a bit steep as well..

“Great for Little Kids”
Reviewed January 17, 2014

My 3 year old loves the zoo. It's well done and not overpriced. You can easily spend a day there. It's a bit of a workout as there are a lot of hills.

They usually have several smaller animals out for the kids to pet and they have larger animals out to play with the handlers in enclosures so you can see them more active. They have several kids' play areas and interactive spots so that the kids are engaged. My son loves the train and the carousel.

Holiday in Lights is awesome, though super crowded. The first time we tried to go we got there at 5:30pm and there was absolutely no parking available. We finally went on a Saturday and got there at 3pm and just stayed til dark. The lights are beautiful. The s'mores smelled delicious. It really is a lot of fun.

My only complaint is that there aren't enough restrooms.

“Great Place for Kids”
Reviewed January 15, 2014

The Zoo is a great place to take the kids to see 500+ animals. The newer attractions really get you close to the animals and the upgrades mix well with the historical buildings. One things that often gets overlooks are the gardens. In spring/summer the Zoo is in bloom and amazing. The location right in the middle of the city is highly unique. On popular days the parking can be difficult but if your not in the main lot your in a lot that is only a little bit more of a walk. Would highly recommend that if you travel to Greater Cincinnati you take in the Zoo.
