Owner description: This second oldest zoo in the U.S., considered one of the best in the country, is most renowned for its endangered species and birthing programs, particularly for gorillas and white tigers, and has a wonderful collection of felines and a delightful manatees exhibit.

This is an all day Safari! Get up early pack the lunches, grab the camera and the kids with really comfy shoes and plenty of water. Then get their early to get a good parking spot. Now they have modified the parking to a much larger parking lot so that is a new perk. Grab a Map so you don't get lost. There is a lot to see but take your time and enjoy it. You can always come back for more. Oh! during the Holidays they have the Festival of Lights! Nothing like taking the train thru the zoo at night with Millions of Christmas lights! Cool Stuff. Lions and Tigers and Bears, Oh my! Don't forget to go to the Bird show!

The Botanical part of the zoo is fantastic, especially in Spring. Animal habitats allow for upclose viewing and well maintained. Food options are plentifully and not too highly priced.

There are only about a dozen great zoos in the U.S. This is one of them. Lots of open spaces, natural habitats. less cages. Well run, clean. There is as admission cost,

we love wandering around this wonderful zoo all year long. If you join the zoo, you have yearlong enjoyment for very little money.

A bit expensive for a family but worth the money. You can tell that a large part of the revenue is turned back into keeping the facilities in good condition. Get the membership if you plan on more than one trip-a good value that quickly pays for itself.
