“This was a wonderful surprise right here...”
Reviewed July 23, 2010

This was a wonderful surprise right here in Cincinnati Ohio. There was so much to see. Give yourself the better part of a day to see everything. The museum is free and parking is $4. We avoided that fee by parking in the lot just before the gate and taking the walk up to the building. Take a few moments to drive through the park and the nearby Mt Adams area to see some really stunning views and lovely architecture.

“Nice museum, and it is free”
Reviewed June 20, 2010

Good selection of art in this mediu sized facility. Yes, you will find many more diversified art museums, but for a younger person, or if you only have a couple hours, this place will get the job done, and done at no charge to you thanks to donations from several large patrons. Parking here costs $4.00. Plenty of staff on hand if you have questions about the works. Easy to find. A little light on paintings and heavier on statues and relics. Tie this in as a part of a day in Eden Park with The Krohn

“Bring a friend, it's free!”
Reviewed April 2, 2010

Can't say enough good things about the art museum, the permanent collections are excellent and they are always bringing in thought-provoking special exhibits, which are now available at no extra charge. My all-time favorite is the Petra: Lost City of Stone exhibit from a few years ago, and the Kara Walker exhibit currently on display will certainly get you talking. There is something for just about everyone here, with pieces from all over the world and many different eras, so grab a friend and enjoy an afternoon of great art!

“a great attraction -- and it's FREE”
Reviewed August 6, 2009

We enjoyed our visit here and wish we had discovered it long ago. I'm not a car guy, but I liked seeing the Corvette Sting Ray with its split window and other form-over-function features.

We enjoyed a quiet lunch in the Terrace Cafe overlooking the courtyard.

There's more to see here than I expected. All of our time was taken exploring the first floor without going upstairs to the second.

I would like to go back for one of their free museum tours: Weekdays at 1 pm; Saturdays at 1 and 2 pm; Sundays at 1, 2, and 3 pm.

“Great collections; Allow a few hours”
Reviewed September 3, 2008

A beautiful park setting, free parking, free admission, 3 floors of art -- it doesn't get any better than this.

I've seen a few museums, and I was very impressed with the Cincinnati Art Museum's collections. There is great diversity here -- I haven't seen as much Chinese, Indian, Persian, and Arabic art in other museums.

The way the display of the pieces is set up also allows you to get up close and even walk around some of the works. It doesn't feel confining -- there is plenty of open space and air in which to appreciate the works.

We most enjoyed the Rockwood pottery section. We weren't too familiar with it before we came to the museum, and we were blown away by the beauty and detail of the pieces. This area also had an interesting short video, showing how Rockwood pottery was made.

Make sure if you go that you allow at least 2 hours to view the collections fully.
