I'm used to big city museums and only went here for the temporary Nick Cave exhibit. What a great surprise to find the museum was a real gem throughout.

We had a great visit.... We let Nick Cave's hairy creatures lead us around and were charmed. The This is one of the more humanistic museums in the mid-west as the guards are truly friendly & helpful instead of making you feel as though you are an art felon.

Our afternoon was delightful and did I mention the admission was free?!!!!

An incredible museum. Our kids were on a field trip and had to find certain items, not touch things and be good and the staff was very friendly and helpful and helped our students accomplish their assigment in record time.

My daughters are 7 and 11 and we are an art-loving family, so we like to take in the art museum at whatever destination we happen to visit. We think the Cincinnati Art Museum is among the best we've seen. Lots of exhibits! Special exhibits while we were there included Picasso, Monet, and a current artist, Nick Cave. Loved it all! Also loved that the special exhibits were also free and we did not have to pay extra to see them. We visited the gift shop and ate in the restaurant there, as well as dropped a donation in their box, so they were duly financially supported by our family. Generally, when we have to pay a hefty admission fee, it means we won't visit the gift shop or eat there, so it's six of one and half dozen of the other; but it was nice to experience all of their offerings. We visited on Good Friday, so maybe it was especially crowded, but parking was the biggest problem. Drove around the lot a few times to find a spot where our van would fit. We stayed for three hours only because we had other attractions on our itinerary for the day, but we could have easily spent a full day there. (But like I said, we LOVE art!)
