This use to be a train station, and I had only been there once. But now that it has been converted into the Museum Center, I go there once or twice a year. It is a great place to take visitors and people with all ages of children. There is the Omnimax theater, the Natural History Museum, Cincinnati History Museum, Children's Museum, a special couple exhibit, a few speciality shops, a place to eat and dance, a theater for dancing and other performances, and it is often used for special events.

We went with our two young children- 6 & 4 years old, and they were fascinated with most of the things in the museum. The museum is huge, bright and modern and the exhibits offer details for older kids, but are also visually interesting enough for smaller kids.

The museum covers everything from geology to water animals to dinosaurs.

The food in the cafeteria was good with plenty of varieties to choose from including kids menus.

It was a good educational and fund trip too for the kids.

If you're looking for something to do with the kids over the dull winter months, visit the museum center--particularly the children's center. Kids will stay busy down there for quite awhile exploring the tunnels in a great kids-oriented ACTIVITY zone. Its perfect for the active child. Check out the enclosed area with all the soft balls to throw and experiment with. They can take the balls and experiment with science aspects such as suction, blowing them around, and for the traditional sinking baskets. I must admit even the adults got hooked. Something about it.

My family and I love the Cincinnati Museum Center! There is a very cool indoor cave. The museum center is actually three museums under one roof as well as IMAX experiences - you can definitely spend ALL day here. WARNING - the parking is cash only so be sure you have some available.

This building was originally a train station and its history is beautifully retained in the museum. Originally marked for demolition, it was saved and opened in the early '90s. The train exhibit is a fascinating recreation of life in the city of Cincinnati up to the 1940s. The display fills an entire room at the museum. If you are a native to the area, it is great fun to find familiar places and discover how they looked way back when.
