When we travel, my wife and I always seek out quality bed and breakfast inns, and we've stayed at many all across the United States. The Fat Duck Inn ranks as one of the best ever. Cynthia and Rich are wonderful hosts. Cynthia sees to the "front of the house", while Rich is a first-class chef who prepares breakfast and also serves up spectacular Saturday night dinners with excellent wine pairings. The inn is immaculate and exceptionally comfortable. My wife suffers from lots of environmental and food allergies, and the innkeepers were most helpful in attending to her needs.

We traveled from the East Coast and met friends from Seattle at the Inn. Cynthia made us feel at home as soon as we arrived and it was a pleasure to meet Rich when we returned later in the day with wine we purchased. The breakfast, by Chef Rich, was incredible. His name was mentioned on the wine trail about the fabulous dinners he prepares for wine events. We enjoyed the time talking to Cynthia and Rich. The Inn is beautiful and the rooms are spacious and nicely decorated. We would highly recommend the B&B to anyone who travels to this beautiful part of the country. It is an experience you will never forget. Deb & Rod

We were on the last leg of a two week road trip, and Walla Walla was the place we were very excited to see. We found the Fat Duck Inn and also noticed it was having a wine makers dinner the evening we were there. We booked for 2 nights. A situation arose that was handled so professionally by both Rich and Cynthia I would say if you have reservations else were, cancel them and stay here. I've worked in the hospitality industry for over 25 years and have travelled globally, and the experience here is one of the best, yes a B&B in Walla Walla named the Fat Duck Inn is first class all the way.
Rich is a great chef and Cynthia is fantastic both compliment each other and make your stay memorable. We are from Canada and will make it there again and again. Thank you both for a great dinner and experience.

The Inn is located in a leafy residential area, walking distance from downtown Walla Walla. The owners are friendly and caring. The Inn is in a restored and expanded craftsman house. It is clean and modern, but the unique feature is that one of the proprietors is a chef. I would recommend their Wine Maker's Dinner which is presented with a winery owner and offering different wines paired with the delicious courses.

Room Tip: All the rooms are different. The "Loon Room" is cheaper, but does not have an en suite ba...

We had a lovely stay at the Fat Duck. Great location, elegant interior, delightful breakfast and charming patio for outdoor relaxation. Richard is a very friendly and engaging manager. The chef Rich prepared a fantastic meal. All very good.

The Fat Duck Inn was a wonderful B&B, but it was the Manager, Mr. Richard Lane, whose personal attention, easy and engaging conversation, and meticulous attention to every detail made this vacation an absolute standout in my memory. Richard's knowledge of the town, of wine, art, music, and more added an impossibly unique value to the entire experience for us; for the family, for couples on retreat, for anyone looking to relax and enjoy the finer pleasures of life. Simply the best manager, concierge, tour guide, and information source I've ever met.

I go to Walla Walla often and was anxious to stay at the Fat Duck Inn, as we have stayed at other B & B's, inns and hotels in the area. The best I can say is it's ok. The innkeeper is not on site, but insists on meeting to check you in. The members of our party recognized he was trying to be helpful, however we prefer the option of asking for recommendations rather than having someone insist on "helping" us. The breakfast was dry and the inn had that smell of an old house. The rooms were adequate. The Fat Duck does offer rental homes that are much nicer properties than the Inn itself. I would recommend reserving one of their houses and going out to breakfast over staying at the Inn, or trying one of the other B & B's in town.

I'm sorry to hear that you felt your stay at the Fat Duck Inn was "just ok". We truly strive to be much better than "just ok" in every way.

The services my Manager provides, from checking every guest in personally regardless of their arrival time to providing stellar consierge assistance, are just a few of the personal touches most guests appreciate. I apologize if this was considered obtrusive.
