I took my husband here for his birthday on 9/4. We felt fortunate that we were able to land a reservation here since everyone raved about it so much. It was the Holiday weekend, so we weren't sure we would be able to get in, but we did, and we were delighted to see the atmosphere and excited about the prospect of dining there.
Unfortunately, the delicious food was outweighed by terrible service! We waited anywhere from 20-30 minutes after finishing each dish before the waitress came back around. The water servers were more present than our waiter. My husband, who is extremely patient, was becoming less so by the time we had been there for close to two hours and were eagerly tring to pay the bill. The Manager, or whomever was walking around dressed nicely and looking at all the tables, never asked us how we were enjoying ourselves. If he had taken the time to do that, my impression of the restaurant would be more positive. I think even some of the cooks noticed how long we were sitting there because they looked over several times as if an awe that we were still there.
Two hours to serve two people seems a bit slow to me. I'm all for taking one's time to enjoy the company of another person, etc. etc.; however, we were eager to move forward at the appropriate time, but no one ever came around.
It is highly unlikely that we would re-visit this restaurant again based on the lousy service.
