First time to Walla Walla and several people recommended that we eat at The Whitehouse. We didn't make a reservation, but were fortunate to get two seats at the kitchen bartop. The decor is really great, large open concept with a historical twist. Our waiter was stuffy at first, but no one can resist our charm (ha ha) so he finally loosened up by dinner, which was nice. The wine list is tremendous and part of the reason why we went as well. Our first course was a spicy pork dish, that was amazing. Great flavor. My husband order the steak special, which was the hit of the evening. The steak cut like butta...and the sauce that accompanied it was delicious. I order the salmon cakes and I should have known better. Here in the Puget Sound, we have access to the freshest salmon...to have it all mushed up and dry in a patty was just sad. Dessert came and redeemed my experience! The best salted carmel ice cream ever!
