First time to Walla Walla and several people recommended that we eat at The Whitehouse. We didn't make a reservation, but were fortunate to get two seats at the kitchen bartop. The decor is really great, large open concept with a historical twist. Our waiter was stuffy at first, but no one can resist our charm (ha ha) so he finally loosened up by dinner, which was nice. The wine list is tremendous and part of the reason why we went as well. Our first course was a spicy pork dish, that was amazing. Great flavor. My husband order the steak special, which was the hit of the evening. The steak cut like butta...and the sauce that accompanied it was delicious. I order the salmon cakes and I should have known better. Here in the Puget Sound, we have access to the freshest salmon...to have it all mushed up and dry in a patty was just sad. Dessert came and redeemed my experience! The best salted carmel ice cream ever!

Very busy on a Monday night. I can see why. High ceilings, clean and crisp without being "cold." Jamil was an excellent wait staff, the onion crisps were addictive and all four of us loved our entrees; lamb, beef & the chile vegetarian option. The atmosphere, food, company and wine could not have been better. Excellent evening! Don't miss the home made ice cream and carrot cake!

Our first visit to Walla Walla and we were in town for only one night. The building is a former furniture factory with some of the belt pulleys preserved in the rafters and a large steaming oven forming a backdrop to the entrance way. The room is large and open plan which can be a problem with guest parties tat insist on letting everyone else know what a great tie their having! Our visit was a Sunday night and the restaurant was amount 30% occupied, so noise levels low and relaxing. Some seating is partially banquette and it is also possible to be seated on a bar in front of the open kitchen. The greeter was young and enthusiastic but very pleasant, our server more solemn but knowledgable and very helpful. Our starters were a delightful gazpacho requested with our prawns, and was an expertly executed dish with firm texture and perfect seasoning. We also shared a basket of fried local onion that was sweet and moreish. Wines are local and generally work well although the Lullaby Viognier proved how difficult this varietal is to get right. Mains were also well executed with a superb crusted lamb seasoned with cumin and served with earthy purple potatoes. Not a cheap eatery by any means but well priced for the standard of cooking.

Very welcoming even though we were 15 min late. Great service with a very knowledgeable server and excellent wine service!ask for Erin, she was awesome. No rush even though we were a last seating on a Sun. Night. My wife loved veggie and corn fritter dish. Very unique. Our adult daughter had a unique and delicious pasta, another winner. I had their gourmet burger that was over seasoned w garlic and overcooked, not MR as ordered. I would make another choice next time.
A complimentary desert was served , due to my wife stating my birthday. Very nice touch! Great wine service and recommendation. A very fun dinner.

My wife and I made reservations at Whitehouse-Crawford tonight (Monday) having walked by yesterday and seeing some interesting items on the menu. Turns out W-C is one of the few restaurants open Monday night (closed Tuesday). We were early diners and sat at the bar watching Chef Jamie Guerin and his crew. We started with the calamari appetizer, followed this with the warm spinach salad, and completed our meal with the tagliatelle. We savored each and every bite. We enjoyed the meal so much we decided to go for a 4th course -- creme burlee and a nice glass of port. It was a complete dining experience -- great food and great service (Steven) -- the first truly outstanding meal we have had in our three day visit to Walla Walla. Even though we were stuffed -- watching Jamie prepare the filet mignons for a party of 5 was enough to get our juices flowing again and make promise to return for a steak dinner. If you are in Walla Walla and looking for a special meal, this is where you want to eat!
