The breakfast buffet was simply Holiday Inn Express all over again. Same scrambled eggs out of a can, same sausage, same potatoes, orange/apple juice out of a machine, Not one single bit of fresh fruit - and this is fruit country and the height of cherry season. No coffee refill service at the table. Certainly glad we did not do lunch or dinner here ! ! On the positive side, elegant, refurbished 1920's hotel.

I am Dan Leeper, the Assistant General Manager at the Marcus Whitman Hotel and Conference Center. Thank you for taking the time to give us feedback on your recent dining experience at The Marc Restaurant. You did not enjoy our Hot & Healthy Breakfast, which comes with any of our guest rooms and is included in the price of your stay. It is prepared each morning by our award winning restaurant the Marc. You compared it to a standard offering that any chain would produce. I personally know that the products we use are all fresh, From the eggs and potatoes to the pastries made in our own bake shop, we offer the freshest possible choice available. Just take some time and read what others have written about our breakfast and you will see that your experience was not typical. We sincerely apologize you were not satisfied with your meal. We value you and all of our guests’ feedback, which is why we share all reviews with our employees. We do this to ensure that “exceptional guest experiences for every guest” is upheld to each and every guest.

“A little disappointing”

We had been told by locals that this was "the place to go". The atmosphere is nice.......dark and heavy furnishings, like the hotel itself. However the menu selections are very limited. I selected the lamb and my friend had the halibut. Both were tasty but not exceptional. Service was also good but not great. Prices were very high (chicken was $38 and a steak was $48). Suggest checking out the menu online if you are a picky eater or concerned about price.

“Not your typical hotel restaurant fare”

This is much better than you would typically find in a hotel restaurant. Unlike the hotel to which it is attached, the ,Marc has modern and adventurous cuisine. Albeit a little price y by Walla Walla standards

“Great friendly service from Brittany!”

Stopped in for drinks and a snack. Beautiful historic lobby and restaurant. Good Happy Hour. Wonderful service and conversation with our waitress Brittany. Highly recommended!

“Chef's Table a Wonderful Experience”

Eating in the kitchen of a bustling restaurant is certainly an eye opener and having wonderful food as well makes for a perfect dining experience. We were catered to like royalty and the unique items prepared just for us and the wine pairings made for an exceptional dining experience. We went for the seafood focus and were not disappointed as both the haddock and salmon (two separate courses) were done to perfection. Each course was presented by the staff member who prepared it and the pride in their creations was obvious and well placed. Since there were six or so courses the portions were just right as by the end of the experience you were well satisfied without being stuffed, quality over quantity wins every time. When next in the area we will do this chef's table again, recommend when in Walla Walla you take the opportunity for this fine dining experience.
