“Awesome Vacation at Inn at Abeja”
Reviewed April 16, 2011

From the moment, Mary (the innkeeper) met us until we checked out, our vacation was marvelous! It was our first visit to Walla Walla. We spent four glorious nghts at the Inn at Abeja. Our suite was well-equipped, comfortable, and quiet as well as beautiful. Mary is an awesome chef! Mary's breakfast entrees were delicious and thoroughly enjoyed by my husband. I requested steel cut oatmeal each morning. Mary fixed it with fresh fruit on top each morning. I never knew that steel cut oats could be so yummy. Mary also filled us in on recreational opportunities in the area for hiking, jogging, and riding our bikes. She also helped us decide where to eat dinner each night. We also were able to have a wine tasting with one of the wine makers. We are looking forward to our next visit to the Inn at Abeja! Thanks Mary!

We just returned home from a weekend stay at Abeja. We shared the Carriage House with friends. Even though there were four of us, we each had plenty of privacy. We were greeted at our car as we arrived for check-in, and given a small glass of the cabernet. The next morning's breakfast was wonderful: poached eggs on english muffins with spinach and chipotle hollandaise, and apricot scones. Mary even remember my aversion to poached eggs that I had mentioned earlier, and specially delivered mine with scrambled eggs. We were treated to a tour of the winery as well, which is well appointed with French antiques and state-of-the-art equipment. The bed was very comfortable, and the down pillows were just like I like them. The bathroom was roomy, and the amenities were "top shelf." I look forward to returning sometime soon.

What else can we say except Janet & I have vacationed in Napa, Sonoma, Santa Barbara and Central Coast wine regions and Abeja and surrounding Walla Walla area was our favorite.

Inn at Abeja offered us a feeling of being part of the family as we were welcomed by Mary (The Innkeeper) who was beyond gracious in taking her time with us as our host. She was available for us at any time during our three day stay (wish we could have stayed longer).

We stayed in bunk house which was cozy and well appointed in a relaxed manner.

We were lucky enough to be at Abeja during harvest (see pics). Everyone at the winery made us feel a part of the celebration even in light of how busy there were.

Janet & I will be back soon to our favorite hidden gem in Walla Walla.

My husband and I spent one night at the Inn at Abeja and wished it had been a longer stay. We stayed in the Bunk House and it was so much more than we expected. Immaculately clean and very comfortable with a lovely back patio that looks out to the vines. Breakfast in the morning was wonderful and plentiful. And the wine was one of our favorites of the trip - especially the reserve cab. We can't wait to return.

We had an incredible stay at the Inn. The staff were helpful, accommodating and low key. They provided all sorts of great ideas and were extremely charming. We stayed for three nights. Normally, with such a length of stay the newness wears off and we start to see the fraying. This place was immaculate down to every detail. Clean, lovely, and everything worked well. The little things like fresh milk/coffee were much appreciated. Beautiful bath accommodations. The bed softer than we prefer, but that's an item that can't please everyone. Time slowed. We relaxed on the private patio and strolled the grounds. This was our first visit to Walla Walla. We will be back and can't imagine staying anywhere else.

Charming setting, large space, a nice breakfast and a friendly albeit amateurish staff. But:
(1) totally inadequate sink and bath area (they don't even provide any drinking cups, lighting is poor, mirror too distant for shaving, no close-up mirror,
(2) internet service was intermittent
(3) lighting in the sitting room and the bedroom was inadequate
(4) sign outfront almost unreadable

We spent our 10th Anniversary weekend in this amazing inn at the Abeja Vineyard & Winery. I almost hesitate making this review as it's already difficult to find availability at the inn. From the moment that we were greeted at the enterance by the innkeeper with a glass of wonderful Abeja Cabernet Sauvignon at check in to the final personal send off at check out the entire weekend at the Inn was one to never forget. We stayed in the newly renovated "Edison House" a beautiful cottage with every little detail not overlooked. This cottage had a great patio with rockers to sit and sip wine while observing deer and rabbits in the meadow. A stay at the inn includes breakfast each morning, our was served at the main house on the porch overlooking the vines of grapes. Each day of our stay we were more impressed with not just the scrumptious food (Saturday was homemade peach scones, fresh fruit followed by a smoked salmon hash with poached egg & horseradish sauce. Sunday was a baked egg followed by lemon souffle' pancakes with lemon curd, ripe raspberries & cream) but the service was top notch. After the first morning when I requested hot tea instead of coffee the next morning my hot tea was waiting for me at our table as we sat down. The stay also included a rare wine tasting with the wine maker. Truly every detail was perfect, a word I don't usually use and definitely not lightly. My husband and I plan to make this special place a regular tradition.
