Owner description: The historic Gesa Power House Theatre is a world-class, 300-seat performing arts theater located in downtown Walla Walla, Washington. The 120-year-old building was once the Walla Walla Gas Plant, originally built to produce coal gas and pipe it underground to light the streets, businesses and homes of Walla Walla. In 2011, the interior of the building was transformed into a state-of-the-art performing arts theater. The Gesa Power House Theatre was named by the Washington State Building Preservation Commission to the list of the State historic buildings and in January 2012 the theater was officially accepted to the National Register of Historic Places. Today, the theater stages professional productions featuring comedy, music, family programs, films, festivals, and more. Organizations, corporations, and private groups often rent spaces in the Gesa Power House Theatre for their own functions and events.

Love to see great buildings brought back to life. Seeing musicians in this venue is a special treat as it is small enough to always have a great seat and the sound is amazing.

“Visit to Powerhouse Theatre”
Reviewed August 23, 2012

if you live in E. WA or E. OR, then definitely worth doing. I've seen worse performances of Romeo and Juliet. That said, teatre is nice, but cramped. Located outside downtown center. During intermission, we just stood outside the theatre in a residential neighborhood. No bars or restaurants within eyesight. No plumbing in theatre either. Theatre destined to serve locals only - not a destination. I know nothing as to how this theatre came about, but for Walla Walla, frankly, I expected more.

“Complete Shakespeare was outstanding”
Reviewed August 20, 2012

We were very very impressed with the recent production of The Complete Works of Shakespears, Abridged. Hysterical. Very Physical, fast paced, as good as anything I have seen in Ashland.
The theater has interesting nooks, good accoustically, even a sweet HoneyBucket outside.

“Excellent small theatre”
Reviewed June 27, 2012

I was shocked at the caliber of performers drawn to little Walla Walla! Shakespeare would be proud to see his works performed in this intimate theater.
