We stayed two nights for a bike ride in Walla Walla. Buffet was good, not great--cinnamon rolls wonderful, lots of variety, powdered eggs not so yummy, but lots of food, hot, clean, fresh coffee wasn't bad. Sheets high quality, soft, room clean, I have no complaints about this Holiday Inn. Great value. I would stay here again. Don't expect a view and it's not in walking distance to much, lots of construction going on, but room was quiet at night. Nice place to let dogs run around in back. Pets are only $20 a night.

we had a great experience, the staff was awesome. my husband was there on a business trip and we were just hanging out at the hotel while he was in classes. the staff were great at taking care of me and my two month old. they were friendly and always recommended places we should go or see. housekeeping would always clean our room when we went down to breakfast so i could put the baby down and let her take a nap. it has a pool/hot tub/gym that entertained us. we were able to walk to some shopping locations close by. the staff was very friendly and made us feel welcome and at home, but better because some one else was cleaning up and feeding us!

The location is a little out of the way, but it was worth it. We paid a few dollars more and got a room with a sofa and recliner. It was so worth it. We had a lot of company (visiting our college age son and his friends). I was there when the cleaning people came in and they did a very thorough job. The staff was super helpful, the breakfast was terrific, not crowded like most places that serve free food. They kept it well stocked too, not stingy with food. Quality of food good. Bathroom products were pretty upscale too for this type of hotel. surprising.

The rooms were very clean, and larger than the typical room. There is a number of pillows ranging from soft to firm on every bed. Although the hotel is located on the outskirts of town, it is only a 5 to 7 minute drive to downtown.

The only negative to this hotel is that wven though is is a "pet friendly hotel" their pet policy is $20/night per pet....this is excessive when compared to other comparable hotels (i.e. LQ)

If you are going to Walla Walla for wine tasting, I would highly recommend HIE as a reasonable place to stay. Both times (mar & july 08), I've stayed there in the last year it was clean and quiet. While its not in downtown, does that really matter when you're driving around to the various great wineries? Not to me. It still is centrally located enough that on our last trip in July when it was too hot to keep our wine purchases in the truck of our cars, we could drop it off in the nice air-conditioned room without messing up our plans.

They have a fairly typical HIE free continental breakfast that gets the job done (though I must admit, I think they have the most bizarre fake scrambled eggs, but the cinnamon rolls are tasty). The pool and hottub are also a nice touch at the end of a long day of tasting. I haven't had any real problems with the staff during either stay and found them to be quite friendly. However, once the girl at the front desk gave us pretty bad directions to where we wanted to go for dinner, but it wasn't a big deal as we found it anyway.

While its not a fancy, five star resort, its been absolutely great for what I need: a cheap, clean, and quiet place to stay while visiting wineries.

The positives for this location are a modern, clean and spacious room with friendly staff. Tons of hot water any time day or night. There is adequate shopping and activities closeby.
The negatives were that I was given a room for a 4-day stay that was located behind the facade of the building - blocking any view. The plus was that the room was completely quiet despite the number of guests in residence.
I was disappointed that the "famous" cinnamon rolls that Holiday Inns are known for ran out the first morning and none were seen the remainder of my stay. The unchanging continental breakfast also was a little tired after 4 mornings.
If returning to Walla Walla, I would stay here again, but make sure to request a different room in advance.
