The room was clean, cookies great in the evenings, and the staff was helpful. The internet worked well. The printer for guests was extremely helpful. The breakfast could have been MUCH better. It was a plain Jane, run of the mill breakfast. Some type of potatoes would have made a good breakfast a much better one. With the growing number of vegetarians it would have been nice if the gravy would NOT have had meat in it. This would open up a menu item for many more people to eat.

Very good hotel for the price. All employees we met were very nice and helpful. They are very knowledgeable about local wineries, restaurants, etc. The breakfast was great compared to most free breakfasts. They had scrambled eggs, meat (either bacon or sausage the two days we ate there), biscuits and gravy, yummy cinnamin rolls, breads and toasters, yogurt, cereal, and even a pancake machine. They had several attendants to keep the room clean and restock as food was used. There were good cookies at night. The pool was fine and hot tub was relaxing. There was a small exercise room. They have a small gift shop/food store where you can get the basics. The rooms were nice with a good bed, large flat screen with quite a few HD channels, a nice recliner (yes, a recliner), fridge, microwave, coffee maker, etc. It is right off the freeway, but we heard no noise. It's only about 2 miles into downtown. The only oddity was an over the door hanger they had on the bathroom door, which made it hard to shut the door. Overall I was impressed for the price we paid. Would stay there again in a minute. Wish other similar hotels in other cities were as good.

Room Tip: Rooms in the back are probably quieter due to being away from the freeway.

This hotel seeks to be the #1 hotel in Walla Walla and it is indeed going all out for that goal. We had a great rate to start with using out AAA card. I was shocked at what all we got in this hotel for the price we paid. It was top notch service! Very warm and inviting in the lobby and with the staff as well. The desk staff was very friendly and easy to chat with. They were willing to do what ever it took to please us as the customer, right to delivering extra towels to the room! They gave us dinning reviews for local places as well as mapped how to get to places we wanted to stop at.

There were plenty of deluxe carts for moving our things up to our room. There was tea and lemonade on the lobby and at 7:00 out came hot cookies. Not store bought cookies but the large tasty kind from Costco and nice and hot. Not just a few either they made plenty!

The room was super clean. Love the no bedspreads! The room was very spacious with a recliner as well as a desk chair. Our room was clean and crisp looking. Love the option on the pillows (hard/soft-sewn right on the pillowcase!) We had a microwave and a larger dorm refrigerator. The bathroom door and the room door were a bit awkward but that is the builders poor judgement.

The pool area was nice with an outdoor seating area as well. There were plenty of deluxe carts for moving our things up to our room.

The computer was in a separate work room off the dinning area with one computer.

The dinning area was large clean and well maintained.wonderful with an over flow outdoor area making it very spacious. The outdoor umbrellas came with lights too for the evening both in the dinning area and pool area. The breakfast areas was full of variety. The breakfast was first class all the way. pancakes, eggs, bacon biscuits gravy, cinnamon rolls, fruit yogurt, juices a variety of tea coco and coffee along with muffins, bagals, toast and cereal. No need for a Denny's or I hop when you stay here.

This hotel was pet friendly and added a small fee for pets. For a pet friend hotel it was very well maintained and you would never have knew pets were allowed.

This hotel was top notch for us. It was a spur of the moment stop that we will make a destination next time.

Room was typical HI Express -- clean and comfortable. The difference at this hotel was the front desk staff, who was great. She brought a smile to my face when I walked in the front door. She gave a great recommendation for dinner and even pointed me toward much needed gas. Great experience. .

We have stayed here several times over the past two years, either on our way to or back from Pullman (WSU) or just to sample the wines in the Walla Walla area. We have always been happy with our stay at the Holiday Inn Express. One night there was a wedding reception and it was loud (no surprise) but it promptly shut down at 10 pm. Staff has always been terrific and while the "free" breakfast is nothing to write home about, we have always been satisfied with the selection and the quality for this type of amenity.

Room Tip: Ask if there is an event and stay at the opposite end and on one of the higher floors if possible. I...

Our stay was ok at the Walla Walla Holiday Inn Express. Room was clean but had a strong smell too it. I wasn't sure if it used to be a smoking room or not but was certainly a bit stale. I normally would have asked for a room change but learned quickly they were sold out for one of our nights due to a basketball tournament. I know this because I wanted to switch from one bed to two and were told it wasn't possible that weekend. I tried to call about 4 weeks prior to our stay to ask about a 2 bed room and was advised at that time, "since I booked through a 3rd party my change couldn't be accommodated and maybe when I checked in it could be sorted"...:disappointing.

So the good .. Pool was fine, staff was extremely friendly and picked a great restaurant for us, price was decent....

Overall this place is fine. It is very clean, the rooms are big, the TV works fine, the beds are comfy, the staff very pleasant, the wifi works. The swimming pool and spa are great. Everything one would expect of a Holiday Inn Express. However the hotel has stickers 'we want to be 1 on Trip Advisor' so what do they need to do? Well firstly at the moment they put only 1 coffee pouch in the room; the other is a decaf. Given the amount of coffee you get out of one pouch, this is a joke. Secondly make the breakfast more healthy, and check your cereals - the Raisin Bran was really stale. Nothing looked fresh and appetising - we'd just come from an independent motel in Packwood which cost less but there the breakfast was lovely. Finally (and they can't do much about this!!) move the hotel closer into town!!
