When the sauce on your $$$$ entree is congealed you can pretty much call the dinner "hopeless". This restaurant was highly-recommended by a trusted fellow foodie, so all I can figure is there must have been some recent staff changes. Both entrees had sauce problems: one was congealed and the other looked curdled. The dessert, a vain attempt to redeem the meal, was a chaotic mishmash of textures and flavors. Here's a tip: you are in fruit, nut, and wine country, simple desserts featuring those can be amazing. Bottom line is that in this price range the food must be exceptional!
