A Room With a View

Our family of 4 stayed one night at A Room With A View while visiting our college aged daughter. Eileen, the owner, is a very sweet gal, and made us feel at home instantly. Since there are 2 rooms in the B&B, and we needed both for the 4 of us, we had the B&B all to ourselves! The breakfast was a lovely warm blueberry scone with a homemade cardamom sauce that was so out of this world, and individual egg casseroles, and a lovely fresh fruit salad. It was all delicious! Rooms incredibly lovely and incredibly clean, and the view, oh my goodness, talk about peaceful. It overlooks a farming valley with the mountains beyond. We can 100% recommend this place. Especially if you are coming to Walla Walla to see one of your college students - whisk them away from dorm life and into this lovely place for a night or two like we did with our daughter, and give your kid a delightful break from her or his studies and tiny dorm room!

Room Tip: Lovely patio on bottom floor room.

My husband and I recently stayed for two nights during Spring Release weekend, at A Room With a View. It was a sheer delight! Eileen greets you upon your arrival, and instantly makes you feel welcome, and at home, creating a warm and welcoming environment. Our room (upstairs) was clean, comfortable, and inviting. The bath was down the hall, but it was *our* bath.Which, for me, was important. Eileen creates an environment that allows her guests as much space as they need, allowing them to freely use the living spaces and the grounds, yet is also attentive to the need of her guests. Eileen creates a beautiful symbiotic balance between attentiveness and distance. She encourages her guests to move the lawn furniture around to where it suits them best. I really appreciated that we were able to choose a breakfast time, upon check-in. Eileen's breakfasts were wonderful and delicious. We were served fresh fruit, a choice of fruit juice, and a lovely entree each morning. If that were not enough, we are all the richer, for the wonderful conversation we shared with Eileen over breakfast. If you are looking for some peace and solitude, and maybe some wine drinking.....you will find it here.

We stayed at the B&B for our 25th anniversary during the Spring Release weekend. We stayed in the patio suite and it was fantastic. French doors that open to a patio with comfortable seating for drinking coffee in the am and wine in the evening. Extremely clean warm and welcoming. Eileen and Sassy (her little sweet dog) were wonderful hosts. Such a quiet setting. Even a rooster off in the distance. Although the home is newer and in a rural neighborhhood this B&B is quaint and charming and decorated beautifully. The food was delicious and Eileen gave us a poetry reading one morning. Needless to say we loved it!

We stayed in the patio suite at A Room With a View for our first anniversary. Our room had french doors leading to the patio which was furnished with comfy seating and candles. We enjoyed each night sitting on the patio with a glass of wine (from the local wineries), candle light, and the stars. This B&B is located at the edge of a country neighborhood and has plenty of privacy. Our first morning, my husband was enjoying the patio and the farm views when he was suddenly greeted by Sassy, the owner's lovable dog! Eileen and sassy were wonderful hosts and gave us a wonderful breakfast each morning with all the trimmings. I am a stickler for a clean room/bathroom, and this B&B gave us just that. The B&B is located in a newer, but charming, house, which definitely made our stay more pleasant (I have bad dust allergies which haven't done well at other B&B's). Eileen should post pictures of the patio suite's AMAZING bathroom. It is huge with a gorgeous claw footed tub (the stuff of dream homes). If you are looking for a private, romantic B&B, this is the one for you!

Stayed for four nights, we were two couples. This is an ideal B&B for two couples, with two bedrooms we had the whole house & garden to ourselves. Eileen is the hostess who goes above and beyond, warm, welcoming and generous.
Ideal venue for visiting the vineyards on the southern end of town, about ten minutes from downtown.
Loved our time there and would definitely go back

This B&B is the opposite of most--the owner has a studio and the guests have the run of the house. As the name suggests the views across the farmlands to the mountains are outstanding and set a very relaxing atmosphere. It is convenient to the restaurants downtown and is a short distance from many of the better known wineries. The owner, Eileen is very friendly and flexible but not intrusive at all. The breakfasts were excellent and suit most tastes. On our last day she made individual peach pies for "dessert" but we were so full of the wonderful roast potatoes we could not eat another bite. So she sent the pies with us, dishes and all, and would not let us pay anything extra. Walla Walla is quite a find as a nice place to spend a few days.

Room Tip: Both rooms are nice; the master bedroom downstairs is justifiably more expensive.

My husband and I met friends here picking Walla Walla as a place equidistant for each. I found A Room With a View on the internet and booked it after reading the reviews. The B&B lived up to its reputation and was a wonderful place for 4 nights. Eileen, our hostess, is lovely and did everything in her power to make us comfortable. The property itself is clean and the breakfasts superb-with the best coffee. Having the run of the house makes one feel so at home. Being out in the country 10 minutes from town was so peaceful and the views wonderful. And it is close to many of the vineyards on the south side, a definite plus. We will definitely be back.
