This is a wonderful hotel in downtown walla walla. It is close to everything and a great value, especially if you include the free and fabulous breakfast every day. Seriously, why stay at the holiday inn when the breakfast alone for two people is easily worth 25 bucks a day? The room was very nice, especially the bed, although a little on the small side. I would call it cozy. We stayed in the new wing. Parking was easy, free and abundant as well.

We were expecting a luxury historic hotel but got a "cheap" motel room. The lobby is beautiful but our room was cheaply decorated, cheap furnishings...non of the fixtures matched. Whoever thought it was luxurious to put the soap and shampoo in dispensers must not have visited many luxury hotels..or historic hotels. When we made our reservations they were out the regular king rooms so we we stayed in their deluxe King...not one thing deluxe about the room. We expected more from seeing their website. We will not stay there again.

This was the second time I have stayed here and it will be my last. The air cooling system was not working in the executive tower -- they did not tell us this till I decided to call the next day to complain. We spent the first night so hot -- it was crazy. It is sad to see this hotel go down the tubes.. such a historical part of Walla Walla. The rooms are clearly trying to be something they are not. Everything is old and not in a good way. Lights don't work... it's all just cheap. It was clear to me that this hotel makes it's money from convention work. They are not geared towards individual leasiure. Don't waste your money -- go to a B&B or rent a house.

The hotel staff were great to work with and were very customer focused in addressing our needs. The organization of our meeting rooms and guest suite for our consultant allowed for excellent communications to take place. The meals and refreshing menu items were enjoyed by everyone. The flexibility and attentiveness of the staff was exceptional in all areas. We recommend the Marcus Whitman "experience" to businesses and individuals!

Snagged a last minute deal on facebook for a night away and enjoyed every minute of it. Staff was gracious and helpful upon checkin. Got bumped up to a suite on the 7th floor, which was huge and lovely. The suite had two rooms (bedroom and sitting room) with doors that could close between them, and a big bathroom. It was all super clean. Comfortable bed. Downtown location gives easy access to restaurants. We went out for cocktails at Whitehouse Crawford around the corner and it was great to be able to easily walk back to the hotel. Breakfast buffet is included and we enjoyed the range of offerings, from omelet bar to fresh fruit, granola, oatmeal and pastries. Easy internet access in the room. My least favorite thing was the tub and shower -- while the tub is nice quality, it's very shallow and not comfortable for soaking, and the shower is so aerated that it did not produce a satisfying stream of water. On the plus side in the bathroom, I did appreciate the heat lamp fixture, and the old fashioned floor tiles that give charm.

All around it was a very enjoyable place to stay and I'd recommend it for out of town visitors as well as locals looking for an easy get away!

What a welcome surprise to find a hotel with old world elegance and a genuine friendliness. We were blown away with how beautiful this hotel was. Clean and well maintained with a staff that was so kind and professional. We will stay here again and recommend to anyone as a place worth visiting. Stay in the old part (the tower) if possible.

This was the second time within a month I had the pleasure of Raquel working the conference room I was using. Come to find out that on 11-27-10 she was not scheduled to work but did come in to make sure that our conference room was set up like we needed it and to make sure we had everything we needed. She went above and beyond what she needed to do. She is a very valuable employee to the hotel and she deserves to be recognized. Being an Office Manager myself I would love to have an employee like her. You can tell that she really enjoys her job and that she wants the hotel to be a pleasant experience for everyone.
