My husband & I came into town for a combo business/pleasure trip and decided to stay at the Marcus. We chose this hotel largely because of its walking distance proximity to downtown Walla Walla and all the wine tasting rooms AND the lovely graciousness of its main lobby. I felt like I was walking into the lobby of a hotel in the early 1920's where style and class reigned supreme. From the first telephone call to make a reservation with Heather, to checking in at the front desk with Jonathan, to being served by Craig at the bar, to being greeted by the Food & Beverage Director at breakfast, the customer service was nothing short of WORLD CLASS. Absolutley spot on with hitting the mark in giving the superior service! On our walk from our room to the complimentary breakfast buffet on Sunday morning, every single emloyee geeted us with a cheerful, "Good Morning!". Just don't see this kind of service much anymore.

The Marcus Whitman experience was just great! We had a room in the historic section, on the seventh floor. It was actually a two room suite, though we had just booked for a king bed room. The room was very neat, clean, and well-appointed. The bathroom had both a tub and a walk-in shower. It was all very comfortable. The suite had two flat screen TVs, and the sitting room had a full sofa, two arm chairs and a writing desk. The internet wireless worked fine and was free. We walked around the town of Walla Walla and included Whitman College in our walk. It is a lovely campus setting. The town of Walla Walla was very clean. We had good meals both evenings; one at the Green Spoon and the other at Saffron. There is a lunch place called, I think, Graves, and it was good as well. In all, a very pleasant base to enjoy the wineries and tastings of the area.

Room Tip: The suite room of 7008 on the historic part of the hotel is great!

Everyone had a smile and enjoyed making sure our every need was exceeded.
So thank you, Chad, Andrea, Jenna, Danny, Elizabeth, Whitney and with a special thanks to Antonio, Phillip, Mandi & Craig. I dare not forget Bo.

Fantastic hotel. Helpful staff, good food in the dining room and the bar, beautiful room (one bedroom tower suite). It's a must stay in Walla Walla. Deserves more stars.

There was nothing wrong with this hotel, but nothing especially "wow" either. Stayed in a double queen in the tower.

Pros:Downtown and within walking distance of everything, clean, better than normal complementary breakfast.

Cons: Cheap sheets, mattress was eh, ac was LOUD - fan kept cycling on in the middle of the night, dated look.

The room down the hall had a blocked drain (maintenance was at their door at 9am on sunday). If the hotel is $100 or less - a good deal. More, and it's questionable whether it's worth it, unless you really value the convenience of the location.

We stayed at the Marcus Whitman this past weekend for our anniversary. We were excited for great food, the wineries, and romance. The hotel itself was beautiful. We were in a King Tower Suite. Very roomy. We did not have a bathtub though, only a shower. The service was great. The restaurant was wonderful-and what a great complimentary breakfast! The hotel is only a block from the main street with all the tasting rooms and shops, and only a few blocks away from Whitman College. The only thing that disappointed us was the loud music coming from a local wine tasting lounge each night. This was less than a block from the hotel and the hard rock band went on playing till 11PM. We asked the management if this was going to be a nightly occurrence and was told they didn't think so. Sure enough, the next night the same thing. The music was so loud we couldn't hold a conversation, our walls were shaking, and the tv couldn't even turn loud enough to cover the music. We would still recommend the hotel, but suggest asking for a room on the other side of the hotel. The hotel management was willing to move us but there was only one small room left and we decided we could take a walk till the music died down.

Right downtown in lovely Walla Walla, walking distance to everything, very good restaurants, shops, tasting rooms. The rooms were beautiful, exceptionally clean, and well decorated. Great beds and bedding, easy parking, and gorgeous public areas. The hotel dining room was excellent and breakfast was outstanding. A repeat stay for us for sure.
