While it won't take you long to tour the farm, but you're not here for a quick trip. You're here to soak up nature and art. The grounds are pleasant to experience and the guides seem genuinely interested in providing you with history and information. If planning on going with kids, look at their website first, as they have lots of programs for them.

Interesting at first and very likely an important point historically in the development of American art but there isn't that much to see and after 10 min, one gets the drift.

I so enjoyed this visit to the Weir Farm National Historic Site. They had a great video about the farm’s history and the rural home of J. Alden Weir who was an American Impressionist. They had activities set up so the children visitors could get a taste of painting in nature. I was able to get my National Park’s Passport Book stamped at the cancellation station.

They taught us how to build stone New Englad walls there. Interesting few hours -- hard work. Didn't get to tour the "farm" part of Wier Farm

Driving on a quiet country road leading toward the Park gives you the feeling of calmness.
The landscape is country. Take it easy and walk around. Do join the the ranger guided tour. David the ranger gave a tour that is full of life, love and story of the artist Julian Alden Weir and his family.
